Speaking as someone that spent far to much of their life living out of hotels/motels, A&W is the only one I can still stand to eat, likely because they still use real ingredients, and don't use steam trays to cook shit, breakfast shit still made with real eggs. Just the smell of McD or Timmies food makes me feel ill these days.
No idea about Timmies but McDonalds round eggs are freshly cracked everytime. When I worked there as a teen we'd have a huge 6 foot rack of 6x6 fresh eggs we'd go through in a single service. Folded eggs are pre-cookied, flash frozen and then fried on a grill to reheat. Scrambled eggs are cooked fresh from liquid form. The scrambled / folded eggs are from eggs, salt and some oil, but you can always request round egg to replace the folded egg.

Best way I can describe McD eggs for me, is it tastes like an overboiled egg out of a carton, with simulated flavor/oil squirted on after. I always see those racks of plastic steam tray things, beyond the counters at McD, i cant recall last time i actually saw a real griddle back there. I think the only "cooking" that goes on these days is loading the toasters, and whatever goes in the fryers.

It's not just McD, everyone does this now. I used to love Burger King, but as soon as they stopped charbroiling shit, it was just as nasty as McD. Can't even go to Dairy Queen and get their classic burnt to charcoal burgers anymore.

I haven't been across the border in a long time, maybe it just sucks cause it's Canada. I recall shit tasted better in U.S. you guys don't fuck around when it comes to fast food lol.

The burgers and round egg are cooked fresh at McDonalds. Fries and has browns are partially cooked, and then refried. Pretty much everything else is precooked (Sausage, chicken, fish).

The burgers are frozen beef though. Wendy's are fresh and you can taste the difference.

Agree 100%
Live in admittedly middle of nowhere, bought a fixer-upper poison mortgage from Freddy Mack for $56k house and 1.5 acres of land as-is. Love it , and never leaving. Easily spent 3 times that getting it like we like it and would not have been possible if I didn't know how to fix/repair shit myself but never regretted a day.
