It never ceases to amaze me just how financially illiterate most people are. Winning the lottery highlights this. A study from a few years ago shows that the majority of Brits who won the main prize in their national lottery filed for bankruptcy after 10-20 years and then live of welfare. It's crazy. But then again, think how many people fall for the old "Buy a phone for $999 or $99 a month for 12 months, interest free!" BS. And then these people vote for other idiots who have a say in how the national budget is run.
