Yeah, I wonder what could have possibly happened about the low point in that graph, right around the early 70's.
So much is tied to how fucked we've been since the gold standard was abolished. It's a shame so little people know about it.Yeah, I wonder what could have possibly happened about the low point in that graph, right around the early 70's.

The Bretton Woods system was commonly referred to as the gold standard, or a variation of it. Try again, fucktard. The gold standard was abolished 50 years before the split in your graph. Try again goldtard.
hmm?The Bretton Woods system was commonly referred to as the gold standard, or a variation of it. Try again, fucktard.
One of the biggest loads of bullshit of all time is the notion that the "gold standard" exacerbated the great depression. Bretton Woods put us under a quasi gold standard but it was not a true gold standard. After Nixon trashed what was left with the dollar's ties with gold we then ushered in the modern world of unrestrained money printing and asset bubbles that we enjoy today.hmm?
The whole point of Bretton Woods was to get away from the gold standard. Indeed, that was practically the whole point of the Roosevelt administration's monetary policy. Which is unsurprising, because adherence to the gold standard exacerbated the Great Depression, as Federal Reserve officials viewed keeping gold in vaults a more important goal than adding jobs to the economy. ...
Finally something we can all agree on and stop shitting up the FSR with economics derails!Oh and..

While the gold standard was abolished before, it really feels like there's far more money than goods out there now, and the main purpose of that money is to generate more interest for the ultra rich. The gold standard was abolished 50 years before the split in your graph. Try again goldtard.
You know what else happened in 1980? Reagan and "trickledown" economics....So much is tied to how fucked we've been since the gold standard was abolished. It's a shame so little people know about it.
Can we just push a button and start from a clean slate already? Just get rid of most of the people in the world that are just taking up space. Get rid of the corrupt world governments, money, greed, and everything else. Just get rid of it all, and unite in to one peaceful world union. Finally something we can all agree on and stop shitting up the FSR with economics derails!
A lot of the preppers, survivalist nuts, and militia groups out there basically prescribe to this. They'd love to see the world burn, believing that they and those like them are best positioned to rule the ashes and define the society that would follow. Can we just push a button and start from a clean slate already?
