After I learned how to "grow" my own adhesive, I literally never had a shortage again. Tomatoes, mutfruit, purified water. Purified water can be obtained from farming the river next to Sanctuary. If this game hadn't already programmed me to pick up every little goddamn thing, I probably could have gotten away with not picking up anything besides Named weapons/armor after that.
