I'm pretty convinced that the Pacific Rim franchise is as close as we'll get to a live action / quality CGI version of NGE. That makes me sad.
Don't get me wrong, I'd be pretty OK with Hollywood stripping out 80% of the child angst, want to fuck your mother's amnesiac clone blahblah fucking blah. I just want as many of the fight sequences from the series in 1080p and the same CG quality as that last Another Impact clip.
