Except it fails because the actual storage medium inside the ipad is the size of a fucking stamp and doesnt cost anywhere near the rape you in the ass tablet/phone manufactures charge. Its a terrible analogy that just serves to make the general populace ignorant and stupid.They are just trying to put it in a form that people understand. Lots of folks who don't have much of an idea about storage form factors (and really, 3.5" and 2.5" drives have so many different capacities that using them for a reference point would be meaningless even to people who do), so they use an iPad instead.

The general public is already ignorant and stupid in regards to storage media. 16GB is just a meaningless number to most people. How much stuff can go on an iPad isn't. It just puts it in a context most/more people can understand.

It's ok to lie to people because they are stupid? they could have used a cracker to represent storage capacity, a cracker is roughly the same size, I doubt people can't imagine what a cracker looks like. sure we can imagine record breaking african bull elephants but a cracker is too much for the population?
