every "correction" is pedantic, infantile, and generally opinions held by the editor. the job of an editor is not to change the message of the piece, but to make grammatical corrections. there ARE no grammatical errors in this letter. even the stupid comma's to semi-colons correction is unneeded. but go on, continue telling us that you're impartial and it's the president who is stupid.

actually no, but that's a good question. "my fellow americans" is grammatically correct. when you say "the american people" then "american" is in it's adjectival form. it's describing something. but when you say "my fellow americans," then "americans" is in it's substantive form, meaning it's used as a noun and can be plural.
