Why the fuck would I pay the same rate for less individual attention? Your sign posits that the amount of attention a kid would get when he's the SOLE responsibility of someone is the same as when the teachers attention is divided by 25. That's not how things work, I'm paying for information bandwidth essentially--the moment there are more kids, that bandwidth gets used up. Dumb.

Ninen Lets adopt SKs model where poor performing teachers are paid like shit, and rock star teachers make more than doctors and lawyers. Think teachers would go for a strict, merit based model that promotes professional competition like in other professional fields? Or do you think they just want the professional salary without the cutthroat, grueling competition of other professional jobs? Hmm. I wonder if there is recent evidence that shows teachers want to avoid competitive, merit based environments so much that they'd bargain with the educations of the students they love so much to kill their competition....
