That's interesting that they didn't clasp the helmets. Something which I would have never thought of but makes perfect sense. They even leave the strap detached in a galaxy far, far away:
It seems like military helmets should have a quick release clasp which would stay clipped unless some strong force was applied, like with these kinds of dog collars:
