This is poor people logic. This is how why don't get promoted. In a capitalist society you have to emulate the class you want to move into, at least in the traditional in-person workplace. They are not meritocracies. Ironically, work-from-home is more of a meritocracy because there is less to base your advancement off of besides actual merit and metrics.
