Those things were fucking dangerous, especially when you involved dumb kids doing dumb kid stuff. Back in the 80s, a little girl that lived in our neighborhood almost got killed by one when some older kid thought it would be funny to toss one near her while she wasn't looking to scare her.

I hear you, man, and you're not really wrong, but it does drag up the old argument about what's really dangerous -- the older kid's intentions or the pointy toy-thing? and is it healthy to turn everything into a 'nerf version'? Here in the Phoenix area, lots children drown each year in swimming pools and their danger is inherent - requires no bad intentions, just 12 seconds of neglect. Should we outlaw them? Just sayin' can't nix every dangerous thing.
