If you want an impressive grocery store, go to Central Market. They have some of the best produce in town (outside of a fresh farmers market) for about the same price as everywhere else. And at least 4 times the area for fresh fruit and vegetables.
And good, fresh fruit is so damned expensive here compared to at home . . .
I'm starting to get why you have a higher prevalence of obesity here . . . junk food is a LOT cheaper than fresh / healthy options.
