All the wartime pics inspired me to dig out a few old pics of my granddad from his WW2 days in Japan. His buddy snapped this as he was hanging out on the wreck of what he said were crashed Kamikaze planes in Japan.
This was snapped as his boat (USNS Marine Adder) was returning him to the US. Most everyone on the boat was looking down at the people on the dock, but my granddad was one of the few looking up. The group of guys in the bottom right, my granddad is the one to the immediate bottom right corner of the lifeboat.
