It still costs money to bring a generic drug to market. If the brand name is rarely used and already has a low cost there is no financial incentive to develop a generic.

No he isn't. It's just a low volume medication, so nobody else is interested. It's not like there's a recipe on line. They'd have to reverse engineer, do all their own trials, and get approval from the fda
