Anyone planning to trade in games soon --
Went to Gamestop today with Lost Judgment because I upgraded to the digital ultimate edition while it was on sale. The computer said $8.80 for non-pro and $11 for pro, but like the surprise $50 bonus for trading in consoles right now, I actually got 200% of the non-pro amount instead of just 125%. Asked the dude there about it, apparently it's good on all game trades and lasts until 12/11.

Damn, I'm going to have to check that out. I played Conquistador years ago. Always thought it was interesting, but got really busy at work one summer and just forgot about it. It's cool to know they've turned it into a series!

Combat's broadly similar, turn-based on hex maps. The Expeditions series is a bit of a blend of an RPG and a Tactics-style game; the first one, Conquistador, is essentially a Tactics game with RPG elements, while Viking and the upcoming Rome are more RPGs with Tactics elements.
They also do a surprisingly good job with historical accuracy for a game. They play things a bit loose with stuff like gender roles, and they're telling original stories rather than just running down a historical timeline, but they clearly do their research when making these games.
