Erenshor, a single player MMO simulator, releasing Monday. Cool game, and the dev redid the entire games graphics with a specific filter based on my suggestion and showing him what it looks like in other games. Game looks so much better now and everyone loves the change, feels good.
Sounds like we have a similar taste in games.

How good is this one? I checked steam and already had it on my wishlist.

I loved the EQ emulators that had bots and shit and allowed me to play the game solo. There was one I played that let you fully bot (not multibox) up to 40 man raids and equip/customize each individual bot. All EQ classes/races. Was pretty awesome, I went through classic up to early PoP raiding progression on it, did some epics, etc. Stopped over time because I wished it was a little more casual friendly and the grind got to be a bit much.

It’s great, it feels like you’re playing EQ in a bunch of ways, the quests are not point to point with quest markers, they’re not “collect 50 bear asses” and there’s some pretty well hidden ones that can take a bit to solve. Partying with the simulated players and going into a dungeon feels like old eq. It probably feels like a light version of the solo eq you were doing. There’s not a lot of grinding unless you’re trying to move to a higher level area, but even then it’s nothing like eq grind.

Go check out the demo, you can easily get 4-5 hours out if it going through all the quests and you’ll know for sure if you like it. There’s some people with dozens or more hours because they’re going through it on each classes and 100%ing the starting island.

Brother, you might as well just stop playing any video game ever if this is your metric by which you judge whether or not to play/buy video games. They're ALL woke now.
Lies. Soulash 2 isn't woke and probably better than anything EA has produced in 20 years. The dev got in "trouble" for not bending the knee and putting in same sex relationships when the whole point of relationships in the game was to make babies.

a DEI infested slop shop (Bit Reactor)
I can't find what you posted on their website, but it matches the aesthetic so I'll concede it's either on there somewhere or was at some point.

Getting a bit ahead of yourself to call them a slop shop when they haven't actually released anything yet. This studio was formed by the core of the X-Com team when they abandoned Firaxis en masse during the development of Midnight Suns, I'd say their past work has earned them at least enough slack to wait until we see actual gameplay footage.

Kingdom Come Deliverance also got a bunch of internet autists celebrating over how "non-woke" they were over the first game and their refusal to include nogs.

How'd that work out?

By me not playing Kingdom Come Deliverance 2? I may have thought the first one was mediocre, but it was the gays!

I personally don't care, as long as the game is good, but saying everything is woke now is not true when there are so many indie games on the market. AAA+ gaming in general is trash and EA is the worst of the lot. I wont believe that they can shit out a good game until it happens, and even then it will be a hard sell.

Dude, even "non-AAA" shit is "woke" by the standards posted is my point.

Look at a game like BG3. Pretty much universally loved, people think Larian are great, are glad they told Hasbro to fuck off, etc

And yet...

Vincke said diversity has always been one of Larian's strengths, adding that diversity is crucial in obtaining “more viewpoints” in game development.
It's fucking EVERYWHERE in anything tech related or tech adjacent. You basically have to give up the hobby if you want to avoid it..

Let's see, scanning though some games I've played somewhat recently that I don't recall/see anything woke with Schedule I, The Last Spell, X4, Dominions 5, Hero's Hour, SpellForce Conquest of Eo, Distant Worlds 2, and Warhammer 40K Battlesector.

Scroll down.
Ok so back a layer from the front page. I really don't care. X-Com and X-Com 2 are some of my favorite games ever and Firaxis probably had the same kind of DEI trash on their webpage when they were being made.

The central character in their promotional art is a white male and there's no obvious signs of a diversity checklist, they might even all be dudes (cant tell if thats boob plating on the Mandalorian or just a chest plate). There's no reason to assume Zero Company is gonna be another Marathon (or whatever that Bungie abomination is called) without at least having first seen whatever they show off in their first look on the 19th.

If you expand it to the publisher rather than just the developer, there are more.
The Warhammer bit is a statement from the IP holder, not the studio or the studio owner (has Game's Workshop changed anything else after the backlash of the first change?), but yea, for Ishtar I looked at the main statement on the About page, not the Team page where they list all their pronouns. Still, neither of those games have "The Message" in them, that I saw.

Again, I am sure there are plenty of Indie games to keep people busy that don't have overtly woke developers or, at the very least, insert "The Message" into their games, if that's someone's main concern in gaming. I haven't liked a Japanese game since N64 went out of style, but I keep reading they have not been infected. Same with China.

Studios from Eastern Europe and Russia have a higher chance of not kowtowing to modern politics too. ATOM RPG was good and don't remember any wokness, but it's an RPG, which can easily hide shit off the beaten path.

Steam's "similar" list reminds me, Wartales and Dune: Spice Wars are both from the same indie studio, that I played in the last few years and don't remember any wokeness in them (or see a diversity statement on their webpage, even though they are in France too). While I usually stay away from early access games, when I played Manor Lords last month I didn't see "The Message" inserted into it anywhere.
