Assclown is correct. Kyle is going to count as a public figure and thus have a much higher standard.

Go for the misconduct of the prosecution, win and use that as ammunition in a civil lawsuit against the state.

There's plenty of things he can even go after before he became a public figure. The slander/libel being what made him a public figure in the first place is actually a pretty good argument for actual damages

The lawyers are going to claim that the events in August were of massive, international significance and thus the major parties all became public figures. The size and the scope of the events you were involved in matter.

Been a while since I've seen it but those dudes totally go off and do their own independent research during deliberations
lol, Henry Fonda went out during the trial and bought a switchblade in that kid's neighborhood and then during deliberation he went Surprise Motherfucker! and flipped it out like a gangsta. just to prove that the knife want unique. that movie is pretty badass and hilarious.

Media makes a person charged with a crime into a public figure by defaming them, effectively insulating them against legal liability for defamation.

Bonus is they get to do this during investigations and while politically elected PAs decide on charging, to ensure they can pressure the powers that be and influence things.

And before the trial to taint the jury pool. And during to stoke anger and tamper with the jury. And after to ruin the person's life if the media isn't happy with the outcome.

And it's allowed because their defamation makes the accused who has a right to a fair trial a public figure and insulates them from legal liability.

If so, then violence is the only cure to patch up that hole in the system.

Here's a tidbit to think about....

If the jury really followed the instructions and didn't look up anything, or read anything, involving the trial while it was going on then they're getting home tonight and just now finding out that the prosecution had the high res drone footage and didn't show it or share it.

They used the high res footage in their closing argument. Thats what made them provide a copy to the defense and the whole thing to come up in court.
