Work just launched a new education benefit. They pay 100% for certain courses from some unis through a specific vendor. Took less than 24 hours to get into that. Like 2-3 days to get accepted by Regis University, and classes start Monday. 100% online. Accelerated program BS Comp Sci. 2 classes for 1st term. I think they are 8 week terms. 78 credit hours to go.

Slated to graduate this fall assuming all goes well. Now I need to figure out where to go for an additional two years. It'll need to be an online-only program either way and hopefully, I'll start in the spring I think.

39. Not worried about GPA, graduated VCU with a 3.8. Not worried about money, own a business and thats essentially what this is about.

Im just curious how they view a BS with business administration. Would I struggle to get in with it? Will I be looked down upon for not already having something like a Criminal Justice background? etc.

This mostly spawned from me gawking at how much the clients at my business are paying our lawyer to handle the issues that arise with their properties. I started this company as a lazy mans way to earn an extra stream of income and as the company has grown, its needed more and more services. Its became anything but lazy, and Im looking for ways to make more money since with less work. Im thinking I could stream those very same real estate law issues to myself from my own existing business. What has been the most intriguing stuff to talk about is the disputes between a landlord and a business owner over Lease Hold Improvements and similar issues.

This. The LSAT is the only big standardized test I didn't crush. It's not a normal test.
The shit you have to study is specific and it's on a really tight time table. It's really a way of thinking test, not a knowledge test.

I prepped for years. Friend of mine got an awesome score and did 0 prep. Then again, he collected ivy league degrees like nothing. He had a stack of them before he was old enough to drink.
I winged it because shit like GMAT and GRE were so easy. I was woefully not prepared for what I ran into. I got an above average score but not much above average. I still got accepted to law school but ended up not taking the offer. But that's another story.

Well, took a little over a year but I've begun the process of applying for online programs for my masters. Once I get that I can start applying to teaching online courses on the side and finally start making a bit of money (I'm poor af lol).

Great to hear. Not being a doomer but want to make sure you are seeing the full picture. There are so many PhDs nowadays that lots of them are stuck teaching at community colleges. The end result of this is its a lot harder to find adjunct work teaching with just a Masters. Every four year I have attended implemented PhD only policies for full-time positions and adjuncts with Masters tend to only get in front of classes if they have an existing relationship with the chair.

Yeah, there are many positions within universities that do require that. Where I went for my undergrad, you needed a doctorate unless you know someone. Thankfully, when I went there, I was heavily involved with a lot of higher-up positions that told me to contact them once I got my master's. Once your foot’s in the door, you can just work on your advanced degree while also working there.

not sure I’d take them up on it, as I want to do strictly online as I love my current job. I do however love that university, specifically the staff in the college I’d want to work, so who knows. They would also pay much more.

Either way, that’s far off and I have the advantage that I’d prefer to be in the lesser position, teaching online anyway. I already wfh 85% of the time, I’d love another gig on the side doing the same.
