But the Arya thing just wasn't good. So that whole thing was for her to learn hand to hand combat and social engineering? She could have done that in Westeros. I just don't get what all that was for if this is the culmination.
Well she did learn something really important...She was able to cut the face off, and she knows how to use them. That's...an enormous power. (If they write it that she can continue to do that.) I know they said the faces are as good as poison if you're not 'no one', but he did proclaim her as 'no one', so maybe she has the power now.

Plus, hell, seems like she has some super powers--those jumps were crazy, lol. It really depends though, if she can't use any powers, her story line is disappointing.

We knew the Arya wrap up was going to be dumb so I as ready for that. The thing that really bothered me was the Blackfish throwing his life away at the end instead of being an important military advisor to his niece and to save his nephew's life. I just thought that was such poor writing it screams of we have to hurry and kill people off to save money.

Also didn't Arya learn about some poisons too while there?

Well hate to say it but everybody was right. Arya plot was bullshit, i agree that the show is just trolling the shit out of us at this point. Still there is always some good shit, like Jaime and Edmure, Pod and Bron and everything with the hound. This show has jumped the shark with me, i will watch it like a summer movie. Enjoy the eyecandy, screw the plot.

Well, in context it probably wasn't out of the blue but it still felt out of the blue and forced (or at least really rushed). The way the blackfish lost riverrun was just... so anti-climactic. Jaime goes in and talks to Edmure for about 2 minutes and that's how that arc resolves itself?

It's just really not worth watching or even caring about. I guess that's my problem with it. That whole story could have just been told to us by Littlefinger via a letter to Sansa about what happened to her Uncle and it would have had the same effect.
Jaime's story in the books was boring too, except for the very end. This has all just been an excuse to get him out of King's landing so shit can happen to Cersei.

Yes, it even showed she could mix them by smell...Arya learned a lot there, how we see it is probably going to depend on how she is able to employ thsoe powers.

Blackfish death was weak...didn't make sense.

I love how we all were like "OH SHIT POD'S GETTING HANGED" last week because of that scene and it ends up being Bronn being a dick. Total writer dick move.

Also I assume Tommen worked out some kind of deal for Cersei or he just sentenced his mother to death. I know he's a kid but has to realize that.

Arya stuff was almost Dorne-level cringeworthy but at least she's headed back to Westeros now with some sort of faceless-ninja training completed.

Riverrun stuff was good especially Bronn's "I'd fuck her" scene haha. Too bad we didn't see some Blackfish badassery where he cut down 10 men before dying, they needed the time to show Missandei and Grey Worm trying to tell bad jokes.

Tommen (King of the Andals and the First Men, Lord of the Seven Kingdoms, First Cuck of His Name) banning Trial by Combat pretty much rules out Cleganebowl right?

Honestly, Given Kevan and the Maester? He may think she's going to safe, but I have a feeling its going to be a mirror of Ned's death (Where everyone assumed he'd go to the watch.), another monster Cersei created going off the rails and Tommen or Cersei will die for it.

For Kevan, though, removing Cersei is all upside, she's a major destabilizing force.

That is the silver lining to Arya's story, at least she's heading back to Westeros with a bit of FM training.

And yeah, Cleganebowl is very unlikely. They could still fight each other, but if they do it'll be outside of a trial by combat.

That face was a bloody mess compared to the others I doubt she has the "ability" to make a working one.

Is Germ still writing one episode per season? I wonder if he wrote ep 9 or 10. Hopefully 10 since that's where we're going to get resolutions and cliffhangers for next season. I'm curious what they're doing with Sam. Old Town has such awesome potential in the books.

I guess they have to resolve Mereen at some point, and next week's preview looked like it will be exclusively the battle of Winterfell. Maybe they'll just have the dragons roast the ships and only give it 10 minutes instead of half the episode?

The Hound scenes were great. Everything else was basically poop.

Given Jamie's speech this episode, if Cersei is killed...

Jaime's going to roll back into King's Landing expecting some victory poon and find Cersei ready to burn down the city. He'll choke her out to stop it (maybe?) like he killed the Mad King to stop it last time.
