Jon returns Sansa to Ramsay in exchange for forces to fight the Others. He reminds her what a cunt she was to him as children as she's hauled off to the rape cellar.

At that moment, Jon's sword bursts into flame and Viseron swoops down from the sky and bows his head in submission.

But the Arya thing just wasn't good. So that whole thing was for her to learn hand to hand combat and social engineering? She could have done that in Westeros. I just don't get what all that was for if this is the culmination.
Sorry for being quite a few pages back, but I'm finally catching up on this thread. You need to keep in mind that Arya is still a child, and kids often change their minds about things. I'm sure this started off as her thinking she would become this awesome assassin, but she didn't like the road it took her down, so now she changed her path to go back home with the family that's still alive. It's a very believable plot in my mind.

But millions of people don't watch little Billy say he wants a hamburger for dinner and then pull the rug out from under us and then demand chicken tenders.

I think ultimately the defeat of the white walkers will come down to Bran pulling some power out of his ass.

There have been truly awful moments this season, but over all I am still thoroughly enjoying this show.

I still want all/most of westeros to fall to the walkers at least briefly.

Really looking forward to some crazy shit with Cersie burning down Kingslanding.
Maybe Kingslanding burning will bring down the BoWB and we end the season with a Cleganebowl cliffhanger!

What if Cleganebowl doesn't happen until the White Walkers make it to King's Landing. Being undead, the Night King takes control of the Mountain who goes on a rampage killing everyone. In poetic justice, the Hound uses fire to beat his brother. Wildfire? Fire sword? Dunno, just making shit up.

the arya resolution in the last episode is still the only thing that truly made me cringe this season. everything else that was dubious to me was just "lol the guys on rerolled are going to be bitching about that."

maybe i just shouldn't read these threads. =p

I'm hoping that during the battle the Umber's flip sides and "gotcha" Ramsay and he gets fucked. The whole Umber ruse thing would be great if it's real, but these writers don't have that much breadth.

what if the entire white walker plotline gets handwaved away by some BS? everyone is assuming that the WW stuff is going to be the climax.

Night's King will trip over a branch, accidentally land on an obsidian arrowhead and explode in a shower of crystals. Then the entire undead army dies, no longer held together by his power. Then they can focus on a the real story: Dorne and the Sand Snakes!

oh christ, that is going to happen isn't it? Independence day/Avengers. Night king is going to die, and ALL the zombies will just drop dead won't they? That, or the other cliche, I kill you and I become the night king. Jon(long odds on Bran) kills the night king, puts on the crown, becomes the new Night king, marching the zombies back north to sleep. warcraft/Pirates of the Caribbean style..

Am I the only one who feels like Arya's main purpose in coming back to Westeros has to do with Nymeria and controlling the wolves against the WW? I know this plotline has been dropped in the show, but it feels like it would be easy to pick up next season

What wolves? The trivially easy to kill dire wolves?

Can anyone tell me why they think Jaqen H'gar was grinning at Arya when she left? He said she was finally no one, and she said she was Arya, and he looked proud. I absolutely confused. And she can't use faceless magic without permission, right?

My best guess is that he's proud of her for acknowledging she couldn't be no one. And because they're a CRAZY DEATH CULT, he let her go. Because that's the kind of thing a CRAZY DEATH CULT does.

Credible? Sure. It just sucks.
