Sorry for being quite a few pages back, but I'm finally catching up on this thread. You need to keep in mind that Arya is still a child, and kids often change their minds about things. I'm sure this started off as her thinking she would become this awesome assassin, but she didn't like the road it took her down, so now she changed her path to go back home with the family that's still alive. It's a very believable plot in my mind.
But millions of people don't watch little Billy say he wants a hamburger for dinner and then pull the rug out from under us and then demand chicken tenders.
Night's King will trip over a branch, accidentally land on an obsidian arrowhead and explode in a shower of crystals. Then the entire undead army dies, no longer held together by his power. Then they can focus on a the real story: Dorne and the Sand Snakes!
oh christ, that is going to happen isn't it? Independence day/Avengers. Night king is going to die, and ALL the zombies will just drop dead won't they? That, or the other cliche, I kill you and I become the night king. Jon(long odds on Bran) kills the night king, puts on the crown, becomes the new Night king, marching the zombies back north to sleep. warcraft/Pirates of the Caribbean style..
