It is obvious you haven't read the books because they are about character development, political intrigue, and the numerous goings on that determine the fate of two different continents just to name a few. What it isn't, though, is heavy on action. For all the talk of action in the books, very little of it is actually spelled out for the reader. It is one of the best parts about it. You get about one major battle and one major ambush scene in each book and that is about it. Additionally, most of it is small scale compared to the battles that are referenced but never described blow by blow.
I disagree, did not feel any particular lack of battles in the Books, off my head I can remember many, as opposed to the show where their absence is glaring for such a well founded and popular series portraying a war.

-----
Half major characters are involved in the war of five kingdoms, with another war, against the white walkers, brewing in the north and Danny planning another war from the east. It's all well and good plotting and scheming but when the opportunity to show the result of all the plotting and scheming is there, and they keep skipping it, the show stagnates. Please don't keep going on about the books, I'm talking about the TV show, it's a visual medium, without action it's like watching the house of commons... I've lost interest in the back room politics of Littlefinger et al' because it goes nowhere. All that's left is the frapping, Tyrion's jokes and the promise of the zombies killing everyone, the sooner the better..

not saying a positive inform, not like oh here she is... But they have her and to play any card with her would mean informing said parties that you have her...and its very doubtful they would try and barter her to the lannisters.

they originated from Ned Starks just command, I am sure there is a little recognition for that...as that is what they are seemingly continuing.

You lying sack of shit (no, I didn't read the books but in the books it says... Fucking really?), no one cares what your opinion of the tv show is.

Also, read the books again because there are not alot of battles in them. If anything, at this point in the tv show we have actually seen MORE of robb's battles than we did in the books.

So I assume you're going to stop nostrdouching in the other thread, right? Now that you've given up the ghost completely here.
I want to infract him, but my brain refuses to let me believe that really happened. Maybe he typo'd that and meant to write (which I have).

Blaming the budget is a kop out. Good direction can can make even a small skirmish look epic. What annoys me most is the flow of the story being disrupted, Mormont rides out with 300 men at the end of season 2, the next time we see him he has a handful of men and they're heading back to the wall. You don't need to have read the books (which I haven't) to know something major has happened and they've skipped it..
I do have to agree with this. They could have easily done a fast motion, blurry snow fight. Lots of sound but not much shown. Lots of swords clanging. Screams. Blood splattering on the ice etc with a few close ups of piggie hiding. Major characters in battle etc. It did feel anticlimactic after showing the whitewalker army and then everyone just going home. It didn't have to be super high budget.

So your complaints about lack of battles in season 2 of the show compared to the book is based on spoilers? I'm fucking speechless.

random thought about the end of last episode I had... They where like 'here is something to remember' .. I would make him a little hand necklace or something... But then knowing Jamie he would cast it in gold and make it his thing or something lol.

as always...is it Sunday yet? And are the Tully's just 90% functionally retarded screwups or is it just me?

Edit: so I was reading a wiki about Breanne to see if what Jamie was telling the guy was true...anywho my random thought may be true...so I am spoilering it to be safe.

In the movie Plague Dogs there is a scene where one of the dogs says, "Damn this place, damn the white coats, damn them all!" Sounds a lot like when the Hound says, "Fuck the Kingsguard, fuck the city, fuck the king!" The dog in the movie is also running from fire. Coincidence?

Anyone who sports a True Blood avatar whilst trolling a Game of Thrones thread deserves an auto-RR deportation.

Say what you want about Astro's buffoonery and naivete, at least he's a good sport. This Godric chap, well, he's not.

Yes except for Blackfish because he's a bad ass. Catalyn is the world's worst character and Sansa exists.
