Sylas Sylas do you want to correct your statement that "this was their first meeting ever"? We can all agree that's wrong.
First interaction yes. they are shown together on the same ship riding back from Meereen to Dragonstone, but it would be dumb to have this massive conflict "resolved" offscreen. We've been waiting years to see what happens when they first meet. we finally got it.

Also a couple of bits that a bunch of you are wrong about in the last half dozen pages or so.

There are only 13 episodes total between this season and next, 7 for Season 7, and 6 for Season 8. And we've already seen 2 episodes. That means there are only 11 episodes left for the series total. Not sure why you guys didn't get the memo and though there was 14-16 episodes total or whatever number you guys were talking about earlier.

Also note in the final episode of season 6 where they show Dany's fleet, you realize that the iron fleet (Yara/theons forces) are less than 1/3 the total ships. This is probably for thematic purposes but remember she conquered all of Astapor/Yunkai/Volantis ships at the battle of Meereen, sinking only 1-2, and then redid them. they have dragon heads as Rams and Black Targ sails. They make up easily 50% of her total fleet, then the Ironborn, then a smaller number of Tyrell and finally Dornish Ships. Those were mostly just for transporting her army, and her army is here.

She is in no way "stuck" on dragonstone without a fleet. She's lost maybe 20% of it by losing the ironborn, assuming the entire iron fleet was lost to Euron.

Its really annoying having Euron sail in and out of Kings Landing and Dragonstone isn't a factor at all. There is also supposed to be a second keep on that small island below Dragonstone.

It was funny having Olenna tell Dany that she is gonna get fucked because she listened to Tyrion and tried to save lives, I guess the writers winking at the audience that burning The Red Keep would have been the smart but boring (story wise) choice. I love Tyrion but his political advice has been utter shit so far, not sure why she keeps listening to him.

The gap between Sharp Point and Dragonstone is something like 80-100 miles. People in this thread have absolutely no sense of passage of time or in the size of this world and it probably leads to about 35% of all the shitposting.

Varys has been around a while though. He was in Essos and they sailed across the Narrow Sea together. Why the fuck was this happening at Dragonstone?

I still don't think I'm wrong. Read the history of Varys. Dude was loyal as fuck to the Targ's.
because they wanted that money shot to tie the end of last season together. the dragonstone scene should have been the first time daeny meets varys and they hash out their disagreements. its fucking stupid now because they just had a sea voyage together playing shuffleboard or whatever else there is to do on her ship besides posing nobly.

agree that was a dumb set up just for a cinematic scene of them riding together.

Should of had Varys riding a boat with dornish or tyrell people, not with Dany.

How exactly was his advice shit?

Tyrion's advice was to avoid falling into the narrative that their enemies are trying to push. Cersei and Jaime both pushed that all the houses had to ignore how horrible the Lannisters were because they at least weren't killers and crazy dothraki's.

agree, or ya know, just had varys somewhere else. he ditched meeting her a few times already. dragonstone meet should have been the payoff, but they fucked that over with the end of last season. it was the biggest meeting the show never filmed.

We know the vast majority of her fleet is in tact by the plan they laid out. Tyrion said Just the Ironborn ships go get Dornish. Tyrell will stay with tyrell, and the rest is assumed to be taking Greyworm and his peeps to the Rock. I am pretty sure Tyrion said they would sail on Casterly rock...Instead Because they need to landfall somewhere. In theory the Dothraki are on a ship still.

Ok Lord Sylas, you just are so very sharp, and full of endless wit. We plebs shouldnt even have discourse with you as your intellect is obviously peerless.

Maybe Dany does still have "80% of her ships" but her losing the Ironborn ships and whatever dornish ships that were there had to have some kind of strategic effect beyond having Cers's prize. Then you add in the unforeseeable dragon foil from Qyburn and now you have a reason to paralyze Dany in Dragonstone while other stuff develops. (Maybe they still try to take Casterly and go ahead with everything else planned as normal, but im going to go out on a limb and say that her plans are fucking ruined to some extent)

Also I mistakenly said 12 episodes having not eliminated last nights. Sorry bro. There has been some retarded shit in this thread, but you are acting like no one can get on your game of thrones level or some shit. People arent all fucking idiots.

And I stand by my prediction that Olenna slowly divides Tyrion and Dany, even though it will be dumb.

Cersei and Euron are probably going to go very Metal on Elaria and Tyene. They're going to have a bad time. Not sure what will happen to Yara.

I think more important than the ships is she lost the leadership of the Dornish. The Martells are completely wiped out and now without the Sand cunts and Oberyns slag who is going to rally the Dornish into the war. In reality, Dorns houses would rally to avenge. Probably. But in this show since we have no remaining Dornish leaders they willl just use them as hostages to force dorne to fight for them. AS if the Dornish would be so loyal to women who killed their lord.

So in theory last night Cersei regained 2 of the kingdoms So now the only kingdoms in revolt are

North
Vale
Whatever Banners remain with the tyrells.

So she has 5 Kingdoms (Stormlands, Dorne, Reach, Westerlands, Iron Islands)

Well we know that Olenna Tyrell is going to have at least one more major scene / sequence of scenes in this series. One does not get Dame Diana Rigg, the original kickass woman action hero, to come in for a single day of shooting.

While I could understand that Dorne wouldn't fight the war now. What makes them think that Dorne, the most rebellious of all the kingdoms, will fight for Cersei?

Or will all of the kingdoms have a Randyll Tarly ready to jump at the chance to become Warden of the South/Prince of Dorne or whatever when Cersei kills off their liege lords?

The Iron Islands is not one of the 7 kingdoms. Seems like minor details, but it's important from a manpower standpoint. Literally every last person is on those ships!

Dorne Sitting out still helps Cersei quite a bit. Or like you said, maybe Whomever is running the Daynes would risk joining Cersei to become the ruler of Dorne.

Either way, In one episode the biggest Army in Westeros and one who is fresh and hasnt fought a war in 20 years took blows that help Cersei ALOT.

That's what I'm trying to say. Eurons play should and will have consequences beyond the queens justice. This is an undoubted blow to Dany and she must react accordingly. Whether that's postponing or repositioning, it's going to have an effect on the show.

Cersei also benefits greatly as Dorne is effectively sidelined leaving Tarly with a lot more leeway and her positioned fortified, which will only gain her more loyalty and credibility.

He is going to need a big play to redeem the character. I'm hoping the throat grab has some nuance to it for finally moving Littlefinger out of the failed cuck lane he's been driven into by D&D without the books..

Yeah...about that.
