After watching again, when they pull the dragon out, there's some kind of rotted dock with those thick chains. It's only two quick shots you can see it. I think that may be their attempt at an explanation for those chains.
However, that's seriously retarded, because why would there be a dock with those size chains on that tiny lake?
On an actual cool side note, they made that entire fake lake in an old quarry, which they talk about in the extras. That's a hell of a set.

Well, where else would Benjen be hanging out? There's a giant army of undead, or there's thousands of square miles of fucking nothing.
We've all known for ages that the walkers would have a way of dealing with the dragons, but lol at casually one shotting the fucker with an olympic javelin toss.
I guess we should have kept our mouths shut about LF not being given anything to do. So Sansa is given the dagger to kill LF so Arya can take his place and put an end to his bullshit, because Arya wants Sansa to earn it by getting her hands dirty? Best part of the episode was the convos of the Merry Band of Jon Snow. I'm a bit surprised they haven't had the NK on bigger beasts than horses yet. Would have shown some cool progressions like that giant polar bear. Episode was predictable as hell but still solid. I want to see how protective Dany gets with her 2 remaining kids now. I'm also shocked she didn't ask Jon about his scars. You question about him being brought back twice previously, you see his grizzled body, and you don't ask? Seems just a bit off. I also wonder if GRRM will use Bran more in his books than this show has. The guy has been a total waste of airtime and I wonder if he does some magical bullshit in the end like the Sword of Shannara.
I love the rants here about the story, teleporting, etc. While I agree that having more seasons and episodes would have filled the story better, we still have GRRM to do that....LMAO.

I think it's funny how many people prior to the episode were complaining about the group going north instead of just sending one of the dragons to snatch one up in their claws.
I'm sure that plan would have went well seeing the result of sending dragons up there now.

No joke, there might have been an Ice Hardware with that much chain in strock right over the hill for all we know.

The thing that upset me about the chains were the prominent and unrealistic angles at which they were pulled.
Literally the entire vertical component of the dead dragons weight and the chain weight will be on this last guy in line, who is no less standing on ice that only yesterday couldn't handle 60 psf.
Don't get me fucking started on the bend going up the hill, I can't see much of their tractive effort getting conveyed to the load without first straightened the chain which would obviously pick up the wights at the bottom of the hill.
Might as well have Rob Ballard show up and pull him out with a tractor beam imo

I would think the idea of a 300+ ton dragon having the ability to fly through wing lift alone, would be a bit more unrealistic than how the chains were held.

Night King has been around for 8000 years. Has someone making sweet clothes and brooches for him. Either is making metal weapons or has a huge stock pile of them for his wights and is about to wage war on an entire continent if not the planet. I don't get why him having some big chains is a big deal.

The real question is, is Sansa smart enough to figure out that Arya was playing the game of faces and just told her a straight up lie that was meant to be taken as truth. Arya does not want to be Sansa, she does not want to rule winterfell etc etc etc.
