it looked to most of us that he was bummed out because he loves daeny and wanted that blonde scrawny armed chick for himself. if thats the case then they may play up some betrayal arc which ultimately never materializes. but i think that scene was supposed to convey to us that those two fucking complicates their whole purpose and he is probably thinking he could be pushed to the side when it comes to advice. more betrayal arc!

I assumed it was because he liked Jon because he was a bastard. Cripples, Bastards and broken things. He'll no longer be ( he isn't anyways ) a bastard with her. That and since he came around Tyrion has been someone she asks for advice then does whatever he says not to do most of the time. He feels like... like.. a dwarf! I don't think it was jealousy as in sex. He never seemed to think he would be bedding her, all he wanted was her respect and he hasn't been getting it for the most part. He is a sentimental little bugger. Unless she starts burning down KL and millions of people, he won't ever betray her, but he may leave if she keeps ignoring his wisdom. Not sure where he would go though. There is only 2 real choices left in the world and one is someone he hates more than anything. Very possible Jamie is outcast though by the people in the north and Tyrion hooks up with him. It'll be a great few seasons watching them wander about talking of great things oh wait only 6 episodes left. It doesn't mean a damn thing at all. Nothing but awkward deaths and dragon scenes from here on out.

That's to subtle and nuanced for D&D and the current level of writing. He probably looked sad because he wanted a sandwich and was hungry. Lol story line. Those undead giants were sweet as fuck though.

Speaking of him, did he even have a single line at the pit or was he just standing around the entire time. What a shame, another sacrifice of a story. He'll probably fall off a dragon in safe flight or something to fill the firechicks vision.

I don't recall Varys having any lines at all this season apart from the first or second episode where he had a pointless argument with Tyrion. She could have left him in Mereen and the season would be no different. All the complex characters have fallen by the wayside.
I am pretty sure Tyrion is just worried that sex between the two is going to just mess things up. Nothing more. He just disapproves of that kind of behavior between monarch and vassal.

So whatever happened to Gendry? Did he die as soon as he said to send the raaaaaaaavens at the gate? Was he in East Watch when it collasped? He wasn't shown on the boat after the gate scene that I remember right? He wasn't shown on the boat in the finale either or in the DragonStone gathering room. So what the actual fuck HBO.

Mostly because GRRRRRRRRRRRM stated someplace years back that Westeros continent had ~40 million people or something on it. So any less or more and it would even be more out of balance. That is a lot of blood for the blood gods though. (The north has no where near that as Jonsnowsandaegtar said which makes it even more fucked up but there was 100k+ north of the wall in the frozen tundras. )
