Are people excited for this season? It starts in 6 days and I feel like last year people were ejaculating all over their monitors for a month in anticipation of Season 3. Maybe it was solely because of the Red Wedding. Most of this thread over the past couple weeks has been about the Vanity Fair interview and lol he'll die before he finishes the books retard.

I'm super excited.. especially for the purple wedding (???), the battle between the mountain and other dude, shitting gold death, and lady stoneheart. I think when Lady Stoneheart is shown it will be episode 9 or the end of episode 10 and people are gonna go apeshit.

Honestly, the books peak at the Red Wedding as far as I'm concerned. Tywin and Joff biting the bullet will be pretty good, but I feel the rest of the story has kind of dragged and been less interesting. I'm still very much looking forward to the season starting, though.

Folks were getting all their pre-season jizzing done months ago. Mostly about the Mountain/Viper duel.

There was also the debate about whether Tywin was poisoned, because his shit stunk. Which is apparently a sign of poisoning to some people.

I always envisioned the scene with Tyrion getting the crossbow down and getting ready for action like the scene from Rambo where he puts on the bandana and then his weapons and all that. I truly hope that's how it is shown.

I've tried rewatching the show but I just can't, dunno why. kinda losing my game of thrones boner, I'm sure this season will be pretty good but the next few books are pretty boring so its hard to muster much excitement for the show.

the quality of other TV has also gone up dramatically over the past 3 years.

I am super excited about it. Plenty of awesome stuff left in book 3 and even books 4 and 5 have awesome stuff they can focus on. We won't see an entire season of Tyrion on a river, that is for sure.

still excited because it is a very well made show with great actors, but i can understand why some are not anticipating the new season, after we lose tywin and joffrey we wont have much to look forward to. yeah tyrion is good stuff, but i really dont want to see a dwarven romance on the river. here's to hoping that barristan or jaime can fill in the gaps. this season should still be mostly awesome.

I'm really excited to eventually see all the stuff that Tyrion describes on his journey down the river in future seasons. They do a great job of bringing locations to life, and I think it'll be cool to see all the ruins and places he talks about "in the flesh", so to speak. Then again, I thoroughly enjoyed the later books so I'm probably in the minority.

Couldn't disagree more UNLESS you are talking about this season only and not the rest of the series. But even then I don't really agree with it.

Plus I am sure they are going to die later in the season and not in the first couple episodes. They will drag that shit out even if it comes sooner rather than later in the books. (I honestly don't remember)

sorry i did not make it clear, yes i was referring to after this season or more specifically after the episode where tywin dies, which will probably come by episode 8 or 9. charles dance is such a powerhouse, i do hope the rumors about him becoming the new Master in Dr Who turn out to be true.

I imagine they'll end the season just like the books, with Tywin's death. Hard close to black and have then have Tyrion do a voice over with the last line of the book and wait for the riots to start.

Joffery will die in episode 2 of this season. GRRM is writing the episode.

Just finished book 2 on tape in my preparation for the new season. I HIGHLY recommend reading / listening to the books after you have watched the corresponding season on TV. There is so much more meat to the story and it really helps to flesh out characters that were already pretty fucking deep from the show. Roy Dotrice does a great job with the audio books.
