Thats It, thats the line we needed. "Sorry, your not on my list anymore." That would have been the perfect ending between the two. Truly Arya and the Hound were the best parts of the whole season. Its sad that they chickened out of a real ending between the two.

I'd say that's one of the biggest things I enjoy about the show. It allows us to move on from all this extraneous bullshit that GRRM put into the books. Obviously LSH doesn't mean shit to the story, so now we don't have to think about it anymore.

I don't see many non-book readers complaining that Arya and the Hound didn't have a real ending. In fact, it seems they almost universally loved how it went down.

Also, not sure why anyone would think exploding Jojen kills the Jojen paste theory. Same shit either way, Jojen sacrifices himself for Bran. If he really was turned to paste in the books, they probably just figured this death was less ridiculous.

The thing that bugs me about Ayra is that they pulled a punch, and even for a non-book reader they pretty obviously pulled a punch. They did it with Tyrion too, but a little bit less obviously. They've gotten popular enough where that's a consideration now I guess. And they're running light on source material.

If this show starts pulling punches it's just Ye Olden Times cosplay. Which is mostly what it is. And if every episode was the defense of castle black I would have no problem with that! But only 1 episode a season is the defense of Castle Black.

Wellp I guess that's how they got around the need to recast Bran or having hodor haul a teenage Bran around: they just fast forward a couple thousand pages! I wonder if Jojen stays dead in the books too and this ends up being the second book spoiler this season (after the Night's King).

Having Varys go with Tyrion also gets rid of having to reintroduce Illyrio (though they still could, and prolly should) after four seasons of not seeing the guy. Actually this finale felt like the producers doing a lot of narrative housekeeping: they wrote themselves a way to keep Bran, they pretty much got rid of Kevan as hand and if we end up needing an introduction to Aegon/Connington next season we'll actually have Varys there to do it.

As much as I liked the fight, Brienne kicking Sandor's ass kinda diminishes the fun of born-again monk-Hound becoming the High Sparrow's champion in Cersei's trial... a duel between the brothers has been brewing for over a decade and ungregor vs monk-hound would've been epic. But now the hound got wrecked by a girl.
