Some interesting casting calls for next season have been made.

Game of Thrones season 6 casting has begun - and heres the list! | Watchers on the Wall | A Game of Thrones Community for Breaking News, Casting, and Commentary

Looks like we're getting more flashbacks and since I'm not 100% sure on the spoiler rules regarding casting news...

Pirate, man in his 40's to late 50's. He's "an infamous pirate who has terrorized seas all around the world. Cunning, ruthless, with a touch of madness."
He's a dangerous-looking man. A very good part this season.

BTW: If people want a third thread with no casting / episode names discussion, let me know. For now it's fine.

So if Cersei's champion in her trial would be Gregor/Strong, who would the Sparrow's champion be?

Will the spoiler/no spoiler threads continue for next season or are we converging even though the show is different from the books? Will we have a 2D matrix of threads to satisfy all possible variations of pussification?

Jesus christ Cad keep up, CLEGANEBOWL

Therein lies the question we've all been waiting for. We have no idea. It was a cliffhanger question at the end of ADWD. But we can speculate. Since the Faith and everyone knows that Robert Strong is some massive beast and his fellow Kingsguard already suspect him of being odd (not sleeping, eating, or using the privy, or speaking) it stands to reason that he gets outed as being a Golem when he is incapable of combat. Also exposing that Cersei is in league with Black Magic and Sorcery and further fucking up the realm.

Or the Faith chooses someone they legitimately think can defeat him. Which leads us to the Cleganebowl theory. As The Hound is currently living on the Quiet Isle of monks and is possibly the only fighter in Westeros capable (along with the burning hatred to do so) of killing The Mountain.

My money is that Robert Strong is outed as not being human before he actually gets to fight. Seems a little more poetic that way.

Are you saying that Robert Strong is basically unable to fight and is more or less a slow moving pile of crap? Or that because he's undead he'd be disqualified?

I think any situation that doesn't result in cleganebowl is inferior to cleganebowl. Maybe I'm alone here, but I don't need a story arc where Unmountain comes to grips with being a Frankenstein's creation and is unsuited for living his dream of growing old and is now disgraced as a fighter and can't defend the woman of his dreams in an arena.

Plus if they start letting in non-humans perform trials by combat we might get to see Brienne vs a Bear again, but this time she has an equalizer made of Valyrian Steel!

I don't see why it can't be a big reveal. Cersei is all I CHOOSE TRIAL BY COMBAT! With a stupid smirk on her face thinking she's going to win and then BOOM, then everyone goes quite, you hear glass shatter in the background and Jim Ross starts screaming "BY GAWD KING THATS THE HOUNDS MUSIC"
Nothing would make me happier for Unmountain to pop out to, 'WEEEELLLLL WELL IT'S THE BIG SHOW!!!!' and then hear the glass smashing and Jim Ross.this.

That would be an interesting but short battle, don't think any animal even a bear could kill an armored human with a longsword. You'd have a 7+ ft reach and any touch would sever limbs/do crazy damage. And the raking hits by a bear that would ordinarily disembowel would clatter across the armor.

A bear's best chance to win would be to charge and knock them down, absorb whatever sword hit you take in the process, and smash their head before you bleed out, but he wouldn't know that.

Question is how does monkhound win? They started the season with Cersei's prophecy, so she's supposed outlive all her kids somehow (and see them all crowned). Maybe Tommen tries and fails to save her after she loses the trial by combat?

Sorry let me elaborate a bit. I mean that, Robert Strong is a mindless Golem. He isn't capable of the martial prowess he used to have and only follows direct or the simplest of commands. This is why Kevan stated that he was aware something was up (along with the other Kingsguard) with Robert Strong, but it would be in their best interests for him to be as formiddable as he appears to be. Cersei and Qyburn being outed as practitioners of black magic would be disastrous for her and completely screw her and the Lannisters over forever.

Meryn Trant getting The Gift from Arya this season will open up the spot for their number one draft pick too. So its a comin!

I want to believe that Cleganebowl is a thing. Seriously, nothing would be more badass. But we can speculate other options as well. With Septon Meribale likely in Season 6. That hope exists.

Seems all those casting calls are things that should have been in THIS season, or at least before things this season. Seems weird.

Even if I had a lightsabre and the red ring for Zelda I'd put my money on the bear. There's just so much fur and thick hide to cut through with a sword that it'd be hard to kill it before it just got on top of you. The best thing you could do is hope it wasn't full on rage-fuck mode and you could get a killing blow before it got to rage fuck mode.

It's up to the writers I guess.

Once you have Robert Strong mulling about, there's no reason they couldn't have this guy:

Roll up with a skull and crossbones 2 foot syringe, inject it into the mountain and watch the fireworks from afar.

Plus the Mountain was never supposed to be a graceful fighter, even in his fight with Oberyn and Loras you saw he was just hulk smash. So him lumber-stomping around in zombie mode wouldn't be unrealistic.
