2. He lights their encampment on fire. Melisandre finds some way to leverage to burn Shireen.
I think her leverage to sacrifice Shireen will come from Roose's being content to sit behind his walls and let winter do his dirty work. He's right in that a siege is an autowin for him. Mel will try to pressure Stannis into burning Shireen to off Roose while he sits in Winterfell, either by making him strong enough again for him to fuck another shadow baby out of her or some other sort of killing ritual.

Yeah I was shouting at my tv to row harder, the night's king could've easily just swarm-fucked the boat. Hell they probably could've just sunk it via throwing rocks n' ribs.
I thought that too, but then after it went on for 15 seconds I was all like, "Yeah. He could swarm fuck the boat. But what he's saying is that he's gonna swarm fuck the wall instead. He's obviously letting them run."

He saw Jon kill the other King. Made him angry. That spear dude owed him 20 bucks.

Revenge is a dish best served... cold.

Incidentally the guy who directed last night's episode (Miguel Sapochnik) is in his first season directing for the series. That was only his second episode. He's working on True Detective also.

The director for the last 2 episodes of the season is David Nutter; the same guy who directed the Red Wedding episode. Dyin' time is here.

yeah, night king let them leave. its probably why they stopped rowing because they wanted to see what night king was up to and when he casted mass resurrection they were too stunned to move. night king is thinking that "i will meet you crows later on at the wall" or "you are a stark and you defeated one of my captains with valyrian steel, i will let you live today out of respect, but you and i have unfinished business"

Jon was on the loosing end of a rout, in spite of his personal victory in actually surviving it. The NK rubbed his nose in the futility of it all and is going to let him stew in the juices of his own fear while waiting his turn.

Man wouldn't it have been super futile if nk grabbed a wildling that was still alive, turned him into a white walker before their very eyes, then cast mass raise dead? Like just an extra fu resistance is futile abandon all hope sort of moment.

Yeah I don't think the NK is in any particular rush here. He commands an army of fast dead dudes with no lack of stamina while mounted on a nightmare steed. See how fast they rolled in with the fog from a distance? Seems like he could of ran through these wildlings back in S2 if he wanted to. Kinda suspicous he does so when Jon shows up if you think about it.

Of course all logic could be forgone for the sake of plot pacing. Just saying, he let them go fo sho.

I have read that George R. R. Martin is friends with Tad Williams. I'm not sure who inspires who, but Game of Thrones has a lot in common with Williams' Memory Sorry and Thorn and Shadowmarch series.

Anyway, the Norn in MST and the Qar in Shadowmarch both have a "creep" that consumes the land they occupy. In GoT winter brings the Night King and his undead, but perhaps he can't outpace winter too much, either.

I think... Olly isn't going to kill Jon Snow, but maybe STOP him from being assassinated. Then book readers will be like "oh what the fux!" Then he'll die some other way at the end of episode 10.

I think it's more likely he stabbed him, but it seemed like he was really listening to Sam's words, but Sam was also talking about how Jon is basically the man and he knows what he's doing. So Olly's going to do the "hard right thing", and maybe that doesn't mean Brutus him.

Fucking Wun Wun was awesome. Interesting he's basically a smart giant rather than a mind-of-a-child type like he some what is in the books.

Welp, Jon Snow proved beyond a doubt that he is a badass of the highest order (in the show). When you talk about greatest fighter in realm etc etc I think he needs to be talked about.

They could have been lurking waiting for everyone to pile into one place and then acted when they saw the boats arrive. On the Ramsey thing I also think maybe Reek will be captured to put him in line with the books if that story line was going to become important in any way. I figured when he said give him 20 men it would be hit and run night raids. Sneak in burn supplies, set horses free etc.
