You guys are assuming a lot about the objectives of the White Walkers and the Night's King. Instilling fear/terror may be a motivation, from their tactics it certainly seems so. Killing everything as fast as possible doesn't seem to be their goal. Otherwise the books would have been over in book 1, the rangers weren't THAT far from the wall and there is a shit ton of dead just buried everywhere.
Im kinda thinking they cant go in sea water. Why else would they build a 700 foot wall if they could just SCUBA around it at Eastwatch.

Im surprised the boat shit is such an issue, the WW having multiple chances to kill Jon but instead kept throwing him around for no reason bothered me more. Oh I can stab you in the back, let me pick you up and thow you, oh you have no where to run let me attack you with the safe side of my spear. Atleast we dont know if the zombies ect cant swim or what was going throw the NK head besides fucking with them
To be fair, the spear thing was just bad editing. It was supposed to be Jon's sword exploding, which forced the tip of the walkers spear down, so the walker followed through with the butt of his spear to smack him. It should have been a pretty fluid and "believable" motion--there was an opening and his spear head still had downward force. But for some reason they cut to Jon's face between the shots, and made it look like the WW had a while to recover and stab. But if you look at the cuts, it's was meant to be one fast movement.

That being said, the whole throw at the start was silly. He walked up and grabbed him, literally holding his spear on the other hand...had he just pushed it forward, dead Crow.

Instead of come at me bro I think he was saying someone hand me a bow, or a rock...maybe a large stick? Anyone? The guy has a magic sword. We kinda should get rid of him. He's 5 fuckin feet away.

This show has amazingly made me Sympathetic with Cersei. I guess Religious assholes > Cersei on my hate scale. I'm hoping the mountain escapes and does some hulk smash on them.

Im just saying if I was going to complain it would be the WW not killing Jon then the army not turning into a bunch of Michael Phelps and trying to take out 1 boat.
I'm wasn't complaining about any of that. My point was part of a back and forth over Ice Dragons In The Mist.

I mean he basically teleported Drogon and Daenerys to the Dothraki sea in the books. They're described as being thousands of leagues from Meereen, and there are a bit more than 3 miles to a league, so at an absolute minimum they're 6000 miles from Meereen.
I couldn't find any reference the thousands of leagues thing, but most people seem to agree that she's only hundreds of miles from Meereen, which is much more plausible.

Her slurping water off of the floor was very gratifying, possibly top 3 moment/scene so far this season. But to me it barely scratches the surface on the balancing out of all the shit she has pulled over the last 5 seasons of the show, not to mention all of the pre-story crap that is not discussed or known.

She made her bed with the religious zealots. Her and them all deserve to get what is coming to them.

Yeah, I don't care who serves Cersei her comeuppance. She's an absolute retard who has recklessly undone tons of hard work done by Tyrion and Tywin to make King's Landing stable and to ensure her son is secure on the throne.

It's from wiki of ice and fire. Reference 39 points to Chapter 71 of DWD, Daenerys X.

Although many in Meereen suspect that she is dead,[38] Daenerys is alive with Drogon, however, thousands of leagues away at a hill in the Dothraki sea which she names Dragonstone after her birthplace. She and her dragon are eventually discovered by the khalasar of Khal Jhaqo.[39]
Nerds are generally pretty good at keeping this kind of stuff accurate, so I assumed this was more or less direct from the book. But yeah if the scale of that map is accurate there's no possible way she could still be on the continent and be thousands of leagues away. Hell, the entire continent of Westeros is probably within 2000 leagues of Meereen, except maybe the furthest northern reaches.

So if she's really only a week or so away from Meereen by cavalry she could definitely kill Jhaqo, take his khalasar, and get back to Meereen in a realistic amount of time.

The Citadel: So Spake Martin - Size of Westeros

[How big is Westeros? Is it the size of Europe, or even larger?]

I have deliberately tried to be vague about such things, so I don't have obsessive fans with rulers measuring distances on the map and telling me Ned couldn't get from X to Y in the time I say he did.

However, if you really must know, you can figure out the distances for yourself. The Wall is a hundred leagues long. A league is three miles. Go from there.

But if you turn up any mistakes in travel times by using that measure, let it be your secret.
Though in this particular instance, that was Dany thinking how far she must be, I took it as an exaggeration. This one is actually more forgivable than the Jon Snow fuck up. He once said that the distance from the wall to Dorne was roughly 10,000 leagues. For comparison, the earth circumference is 8,300 leagues.

Add the fact that GRRM is terrible with scale, measurements and distance, if he did put "thousands of leagues" in the book. If I can ever get to finishing this re-read of ADWD then I'll post it, but I doubt I'll be able to anytime soon. This book is shitty.

Looking at all the maps I Googled after reading these arguments. There's so much fucking shit relatively untouched. Like the forest/jungle continent south of Essos which is almost completely untouched. I wonder if he'll incorporate the whole world or just Westeros and Essos. I WANNA SEE SOME GODDAMN APE AND LIZARD MAN FIGHT, DAMNIT!

All I can think about when Cersei speaks to Tommen is that she tried to poison him at the end of season 2.

I haven't read the books and you have to expect something of the mountain. There was that scene a few episodes ago when they were in the new Maester's lab and the Mountain's under the sheet and he starts spasming and shit. Obviously something's going to go down at some point.
Yup. I haven't read the books either, and it's obvious.

Yeah but I think in the books she had Ser Ilyn Payne on hand to make sure they wouldn't be taken prisoner. It wasn't really that monstrous a thing to be prepared to do considering what happened to the Targaryens the last time King's Landing was sacked.

I saw no sign of an Ice Dragon in that scene. Seems like wherever the White Walkers go it gets colder, could explain the cold mist/air you see there. When the White Walker walked through the flames in that hut (right before he kills the Thenn) did the fire die down a bit or was I just seeing things?
