just saying its goddamned stupid. tyrion is being brought in as a prisoner, a peace offering for ser friendzone to come back into dany's good graces. even if tyrion were to meet her and recite all the dirt he knows on dragons and westeros politics, the proper move for her is to either chuck his ass in a dungeon or have him executed on the spot.

We're all caught up now, yeah?

Fucking bullshit with Selmy. And yeah, showing the unsullied get cut down so easily was pretty dumb. They also wouldn't have tried fighting with their spears. The spears are for the dothraki, their short swords are for CQC. That scene was sloppy and lame until Selmy showed up and it was heroic. Him getting killed wasn't as unbelievable as the unsullied getting wrekt. Selmy had to die anyway to make room for Tyrion. It'll be weird seeing Tyrion and Daenarys together. They're on the same show but Tyrion is Westeros and Daenarys is Essos. Seeing them together is like seeing Barry Allen meeting Oliver Queen. Tyrion is being set up to be the thing that makes Daenarys' rule work, but we know she needs to hit rock bottom to get Drogon back, so we'll see how that goes. Watching Tyrion hold her hand through politics only to see her fuck it up will be just as lame as watching Selmy, Dhaario, Ser Friend Zone, Greyworm, Missandei and her court give her dumb advice while she fucks it up.

Darth Sansa is set up more than the Mountain Mk III fighting those random prisoners before fighting Oberyn. Not only is she done with her LF training, but she's also replacing Wyman Manderly AND Lady Stoneheart here. Nobody really gives a shit about the Freys, but I still think she'll make some pies. With how great an actor Iwan Rheon (Ramsay Bolton) is I think most of what she does centers around him and Roose. I was kind of hoping she'd have killed one of Ramsay's mistresses by now. I bet she'll play her first card in the next episode. If this season sneaks by without her wowing us I think I'm done with her.

Jon Snow is really stepping up to the plate in this season. More so than the books I think. I paused the show and explained to my wife the R+L=J theory, that took about 15 minutes, lol. There were three hints toward it in the show tonight: 1. Stannis saying that Eddard producing a bastard wasn't his way, 2: Melisandre smelling that kingsblood 3: Sansa saying Lyanna was raped and LF knowing better.

It's too bad Julius Caesar is dead again.

I think they're going to forgo the whole Winterfell being buried in snow before Stannis gets there. Stannis is going to roll in to find Sansa Stark sitting on the Weirwood throne in Winterfell with the Boltons flayed and pies being served.

I feel like I might be the only one who doesn't give a shit about the Dorne plot. My anger for Niobe from Rome has carried over onto Ellaria Sand's shoulders since she's pretty much the same stupid, hateful character.

Let me see if I got this right:

I still don't care. The only think I care about is that Bronn makes it out of there alive, which he probably won't. I don't even care about Jaime if he's not going to be the kingsguard commander he was meant to be and starting Tywining it up. Tywin would've never gone on a fool's errand to the south.

If he was brought in with Varys it makes sense that she uses him. But yeah, with Ser Friendzone carting him in, you know it's going to be two episodes of him being in Mereen's sky cells before he gets that opportunity to tell her the magic words that will help her politics and dragons.

More like Stannis is going to come in and get his ass handed to him by Brienne somehow. If Brienne ends up killing Stannis, like they keep foreshadowing, I am done

Oh and I forget, what's the right policy in people talking about casting decisions?

I don't even like hearing about what happened in trailers or "next time on game of thrones" videos, lol. Seeing Tyrion standing with Daenerys or knowing that Ciar?n Hinds isn't being cast for any more episodes ruins it for me!!

You know, reading the spoilers weeks ago, I thought Barristan the Bold was going to go down like a bitch...but lol--that mother fucker took out 8 men,at once. He also did so without his armor, which Westeros knights have trained themselves to use in combat. The only bullshit in that scene was him lasting as long as he did, and the scene actually had to make use of "durr hurr" guys standing around for that to happen (More than a few times his sword was slicing someone and 3+ guys with knives were standing behind him. )

If you don't have armor on? Any time you can be surrounded by people, even if you're a super soldier and they are fairies, the chance of beating them is ridiculously low (Hell, it's ridiculously low with armor, but at least they'd have to work at it then or try to wrestle you down). This isn't Kung Fu guys; super bad ass swords men die just like anyone else if someone walks up behind them and stabs them in the back. Barristan took out 6 guys before the first one was even able to slow him down with a stab; that's some ridiculous shit.

Also, yeah, they were guys in masks and robes. However, they were heavily intimating that these were slave pit fighters. The fact is, they may have all been gladiators, not just normal slaves.

I agree with Tuco, and someone else who mentioned, the bullshit wasn't Barristan; the old man's prowess, given he was surrounded, outnumber 8-1, and didn't have his armor? Seemed to match his legendary status. What was bullshit is the unsullied fighting like a bunch of street brawlers and not as a cohesive unit. In every other scene we've seen, they always move together, form shield walls and fight like early (Pre-alexander) greek hoplites. Seemed kind of silly when the unit of 8 just decided to spread out and switch to man on man from zone defense.

They laid on the R+L=J pretty thick this episode. I wonder how long it will take for people who haven't read the books to clue in.

Terrible episode. I can't believe how terrible they made the UnSullied look. The UnSullied couldn't take a burned down Winterfell let alone Kings Landing in this show. The Selmy death just seems like they need a shocking death every season so he was the one to get the axe. Very forced.

I agree with all of this. I thought Barristan's fight made sense there were just too many of them and I even give the shot of the two unsullied jumped by 6 guys out of nowhere a pass but the 8 guys who were aware and should have fought back to back using the spear reach to keep the others at bay didn't make any sense. For that to have made any sense they could have shown like 20 sons of the harpy guys just physically charge/swarming them which would give them the advantage with knives.

Sucks that Barristan is done, but he did go out like a boss. Agree the basic fighting made Unsullied look like shit, except Grey Worm who also achieved Boss Status.

More Jaime and Bronn is needed.

they set up a no win situation for selmy, that scene was not in the books, they made him fight with no armor, in close quarters and he had to back up the unsullied who were fighting worse than these ragtag assholes. whats the point of the whole unsullied training process when dudes with their cocks still intact completely punk them?

anyway, im going to just say fuck it because in the long run they might as well not bothered having selmy there at all because she is a crappy queen even with him by her side. i dunno how jorah and tyrion are going to change all that. bitch is gonna get on her dragon no matter what and fly off into the sunset.

Cool so we're all caught up now? next week finally get a new episode.

i really hope next year hbo doesn't give reviewers any episodes or just 1, it fucking sucked staying out of GoT threads to avoid spoilers.

really bummed, barristan was awesome and it sucks seeing him go if it ends up being true. not really loving the season so far but i guess have to see it all the way through for final verdicts.

dany's unsullied army is kinda sucking balls, seeing a lot of tits made them go soft or something

loras never got arrested in the books, did he? the buildup of the KL stuff is pretty great in the show so far, a non reader will feel like cersei is kicking ass and taking names setting up her own little mormon army, sending away the members of the council, and starting to set up margey for a fall. when it all comes crashing down on her its going to be insane.
So if it wasn't obvious to all of you, Loras is replacing margaery in the whole getting locked up thing. That's why the aged tommen up and had them fuck. (and not show tittays) It wasn't some strangley non-gratuitous sex scene, it was removing that element from play in a manner letting book readers know that they weren't going that route. Instead they had the sparrows go after them gay's and imprisoned Loras. 1: because the whole homosexuality thing is more prominent in the tv series, and the church vs homosexuality is a bit more relevant for modern viewers, 2: cus hbo/liberals/whatev gotta show them gays being persecuted, 3: it's easier to show margaerys manipulation and playing cersei (via tommen, she already got that boy pussy whipped) with her free (which wasn't really shown in the books at all, all you saw was cersei fucking up everything).

except dany hates the fucking lannisters as everyone everywhere does, she may not kill tyrion on sight but it would be a huge weakness on her part to accept him and his counsel.
spoiler alert, dany does not immediately kill tyrion on sight in the books. Just saying.

The scene totally cheapened the Unsullied. Who, even within the context of the show, were built up as the "ultimate" warrior. Losing to a bunch of thugs that have already been established as masked, one step above slaves, servant idiots with absolutely no training. Relying solely on attacking when their victims are unawares.

That shit was lame. Barristan was badass.

During these last few episodes I have noticed that my own viewing experience has changed. The dialogue sequences, I am now hanging on every word and reading the minute details in character choice of words, expressions and timing of their replies and counters. It's also like I have a greater awareness of the character's 'arc' that has them at this point.

It must be a sign of extremely good writing . . . and all the other creative elements. Because normally most of that sort of stuff just goes over old Gamma Ray's head. I'm sort of able to figure out what happened after the 'big' final moment.

But with the latest few episodes, this is different for me now.

I agree with everyone else about the Unsullied. This is the same army that was supposed to march into Westeros and take the Iron Throne but yet every time we've seen them they are getting ambushed and throats cut. Bronn at least makes the Dorne scene watchable. I'm not the biggest fan of Stannis but that scene with his daughter was great.

Dany will welcome Tyrion when she finds out he killed Tywin, since Tywin was ultimately behind the Targaryian purge. You can't discount that aspect and I imagine word has spread very quickly due to the bounty on his head and the notoriety surrounding the deed.

Barristan? He did take out 7 out of 8 motherfuckers just there, not bad for an old man surrounded in a narrow room. Built him up to be Neo so I can understand the disappointment not to see CGI kung fu sword fighting... but still, 1 vs 8 kinda sucks for anyone in this 'everyone can/will die' universe.
