Even as a non book reader, the unsullied getting gimped so hard and so easily was lame. I kept thinking to myself that episode, "Man. They just don't make castrated slave warriors like they used to anymore!"

Otherwise I liked it alright.

Jon Snow like a boss. Sansa has a pretty good chance of being a breakout bitch, finally. Her story might just wind up stalling out like Dany's does though. Hard to say. Could really and truly suck. There is a chance that Sansa will be awesome, at least. Dany's shit is starting to get tiresome. But on the other hand, Dwagguns.

That Arya image above...I didn't make the connection during the episode, but that is too perfect (for Arya lol).

What I don't understand is how a bunch of former slave owners with daggers take on a group of unsullied.

they stated in the show that it's actually the former slave owners paying former slaves to do their dirty work (ie anyone from hard labor to former slave soldiers, house guards, former pit fighters potentially, etc)

also i agree unsullied were handled poorly. They still could of died with the same numbers, but they should of done it completely stoic and with discipline. forming up a wall or back to back and fighting with short swords instead of spears. not stabbed in the back/throat slit/ambushed/etc and panicking like a normal person would.

The guys in masks were supposed to be the Pit Fighters I thought. /shrug

even then... <<<<<Unsullied. They needed more people to make it believable. Like a 100-200 vs 6. Which I think they were going for, but shot it poorly.

The problem with the scene isn't that that they audience (show only) is supposed to think they are pit fighters. It is that they had that entire sub plot exposing the Sons of the Harpy as being poor assholes who hated being equal to slaves. Now, the one guy they caught doesn't represent the whole sure. But that is the perception that sub plot created.

I'm really enjoying this season. The first episode was a bit slow, but things have picked up a lot. I think it's benefiting from the fact that they're starting to converge characters/storylines, which gives a bit more screen time for everyone.

2 of the 3 sand snakes are hot as hell, too. Here's hoping we get some nudity from them, as it's been slim pickin's thus far this season.

I agree with everyone else about the Unsullied. This is the same army that was supposed to march into Westeros and take the Iron Throne but yet every time we've seen them they are getting ambushed and throats cut. Bronn at least makes the Dorne scene watchable. I'm not the biggest fan of Stannis but that scene with his daughter was great.
They're an army, not a city watch. Even Daario said they're not cut out for this kind of work.

If he was brought in with Varys it makes sense that she uses him. But yeah, with Ser Friendzone carting him in, you know it's going to be two episodes of him being in Mereen's sky cells before he gets that opportunity to tell her the magic words that will help her politics and dragons.

Sky cells were in the Eyrie, bro.

The nerd tears for Barristan and the Unsullied are flowing.

It was a surprise attack, with overwhelming numbers, in a compromised location. Show runners did their job of making the scenario as plausible as possible for the required outcome.

Cry babies gona cry.

This also bothered me. I thought Unsullied were supposed to be crazy fucking badasses. Looks like they were pretty on-par with the Sons of the Harpy.

Not a fan of Stannis? Wakandan you crazy.

Jon should be pumping out shadows every half hour until he drops dead. You already gave up being lord of Winterfell, goddamn man you earned that magically warmed up pussy.

Also, Jon has that Baratheon hair. The seed is strong. Just saying.

Stannis bending the knee to Jon, now that would be a hoot. Melisandre's fire led her to the wrong Baratheon.

Plus, most people's theories have Jon banging his aunt. Which is creepy.

If your aunt looked like Emilia Clarke and was down, pretty sure you would be creepy too.

Well they were an afterthought in the books as well. Its been discussed in here how GRRM has kind of written himself into a corner about it.
