nothing to do with feedback. Show runners are under a bit of time crunch, with only 2 seasons left to finish the entire series. bad is we only get 2 more seasons after this one, good is we shall soon be able to merge the two threads.
On the surface it's 2.5 years plus, which sounds like quite a bit. But once you start to work out number of shows left and the fact that they are covering multiple characters and storylines. And most episodes will skip a character or two due to time. They do have to start getting things sorted.

They've been setting up that little kid to be the one that "kills" Jon from the beginning, I just wonder if the show will show the resolution or leave show watchers waiting too.

If Jon gets rezed, it won't be during the finale. They will let viewers suffer lol

edit: Damn, it just dawned on me. Barristan's death is setting up Jon's death! He got stabbed multiple times and died. I bet they will show Jon getting stabbed way worse, then viewers will go "omg, Barristan got stabbed the same way and died! Jon is fucked!!"

Then next season the "previous on GoT" will recap all the red priest rez stuff

Also I think Samwise is going to Old Town and I can't wait. I enjoyed the build up chapters for him and you know he's going to figure all this magic bullshit out and roll up with an obsidian shooting gun or something.

I also got the feeling they setup the boy as the one who will shank him later
Yeah, my sister, who has not read the books, said "That kid is going to kill Jon" after this week's scene of them together.

Am I the only one that noticed the chair greyworms girlfriend was sitting on? It was a shaker chair. Just a simple shaker chair. Look, I know it's faggy. But they're in this desert land with pyramids and dragons and this high spartan throne room and all this high fantasy stuff... and she's sitting on a shaker dining room chair?

In my defense, I noticed the chair because I was trying to get a look at her ass. But what was seen cannot be unseen. I'm just left thinking, "They forgot to make a chair and just grabbed one from the cafeteria, didn't they?"

A stool. A stool, guys!

Otherwise: like a boss.

Yeah, so the stone men just hang out like statues there all day until they find someone to pounce upon and "Make them one of us." Even for a Leper colony that is some depressing shit right there.

Am I the only one that believes Littlefinger when he says he has no specific plan, he just creates chaos and takes advantage of the fallout?

No because he clearly had a defined plan on how to take over the Vale. Starting way back in book 01.

I don't think so. I think he made moves with smaller goals in mind, and the results were spectacularly successful beyond his wildest hopes. That's why he's grinning like an idiot all the time.

All kinds of shit happened that he didn't anticipate but it was almost all to his benefit.

Basically the opposite of Varys/Illyrio.

The stuff he stays to Sansa and his ladder speech implies he's just looking ahead one rung at a time. Of course, he could just be lying and he truly redefines Machiavellian.

He became lord of Harrenhall despite it being in ruin simply so he could have the status to marry Lysa. He knew full well he was going to kill her off and become the owner of the Vale after that. He may have to modify his plans some when the time comes. Like how he sees the most clearly defined path to the throne is with an alliance with the North. I'm sure if Tywin was still living he may have modified those plans a touch. But his end goal is always to sit on the throne and it is hard to make a solid plan that holds up for 10 years straight he has to modify some stuff based upon occurrence.

I can't really think of anything that he was the windfall without him putting some of the pieces into motion

I'm going to have to agree with Kreugan here. Littlefinger has no apparent grand aspirations. But is good at seeing a situation for what it is and knowing how to push it in his favor. He also knows when to abandon plans and how to avoid being detected (mainly because, like Varys, he has no banners to call on or Armies that support him so nobody really even suspects he can do anything).

Like really, for the entire series the only character who is seemingly aware that Littlefinger is making shit happen is Varys. And even Varys has no idea what games Littlefinger is getting at, or any idea of what he really wants. We don't know if Littlefinger is aware of what Varys is after either though, or even if he knows of Varys' grand conspiracy.

I believe Varys actually is concerned with the good of the realm. Littlefinger is concerned only with Littlefinger. I also don't know why you're saying he has no aspirations. His clear goal is to be ruler of Westeros. Varys knows this but doesn't want Littlefinger as an enemy nor how could he really convince anyone Littlefinger is a threat (for the reasons you listed.) Remember when Varys said Littlefinger would burn the realm to the ground so long as he could rule the ashes?

I always wondered what Martin was doing with Oldtown. It's supposed to be by far the biggest city, but have we ever met a character in the books that is from there? The Maesters are trained there, but other than that, it's just this "place" that exists but never does anything, nobody is from there, and no power evidently originates there because they have no army etc.

Oldtown is under highgarden and the Tyrells, right?
