This kinda bothered me. From the beginning he was all wrong. From the weapon to the hair.
Well he never even growled in the book so in this context there is no difference between a growl/snarl/howl. He has always made sounds when he should not. In the book Ghost has howled during a warg dream though so there's a tenuous precedent for that.
