Really enjoyed this episode. I like how they reverted to old GoT by actually killing off meaningful characters in meaningful ways. This ep was a slaughterhouse and I loved it.

It is also somewhat interesting they flipped around the Jamie v Cersei storyline a bit. He was salty at her when going to the Riverlands but in the show he wanted to return to her but now he's salty since she went allah akbar on the sept.

I also wonder if Cersei thinks she's altering her personal fate by eliminating Marge not knowing that the prophecy is speaking of Dany. Possibly she already wrote Tommen off as dead (you could argue he was fucking her sideways so she had reason to kill him off) and she was just interested in positioning herself in the best possible manner. Is she the first woman to sit the Iron Throne?

How the Hand of the Queen deals with his new allies in Dorne will be interesting. He sent his niece there and they murdered her. Given the whole idea behind sending her there was a ruse to smoke out some a spy in king landing Tyrion must have some serous guilt over the whole thing. The murdering of someone sent as a peace proposal between two houses must be one of the most extreme breaches possible between two houses.

Well his father did order the slaughter of Dornish. Eye for an eye and all that. I'm not sure Tyrion really gives too many flying fucks about dead Lannisters.

Loved the episode. Don't really like them taking all the teeth out of Varys though, we already knew he had political moves, it woulda been cool to see him crossbow somebody. Will miss the Sparrow, that dude did a fantastic job.

Awesome episode, except for the fact that when the Sept of Baelor blew up, it made me think of Astrocreep and ruined my immersion.

I'm now wondering if the night's watch wearing all black is somewhat symbolic. After Sansa's transformation from girl to grown woman in the Vale she came out dressed in black. Peter wants nothing more than to rule ashes and he wears all black. Cersei planted the C4's and she is wearing all black. I doubt the Night's Watch being in all black really relates to any of it and it is just on-camera imagery to really drive home the fact that these people are transforming.

The Night's Watch being all black is actually pretty stupid when you think about how they do most of their battles and missions north of the wall, where it's full of white snow. They must stand out like a sore thumb up there.

That was a great episode, puts it really up there as far as all time episodes ever (I'm think Ozymandias from Breaking Bad). ToJ confirms Jon's parentage (I seriously don't think the producers would troll that hard if it wasn't). Lady Mormont is the biggest badass of them all. I didn't see the Arya scene coming at all, I thought they were going to skip her entirely this episode. I also agree with what someone said above, seeing Dany make Tyrion Hand of the Queen was great.

I know you meant Tyrion, but there's actual two Hands of the Queen: Qyburn was wearing a hand pin when he was crowning Cersei.

My question is who is going to lead Dany's armies in battle? She doesn't have a military commander who can fight with the men but who also knows all the tactics she will run into in Westeros like Jon, Stannis, Rob etc. Tyrion knows but can't do the fighting and Grey Worm isn't really the man for that other then commanding the unsullied.

Uh, Tyrion led the Battle of the Blackwater. He's pretty effective at commanding forces. Also isn't afraid to get down in the mud when needed. Grey Work is more of a tactical commander than a strategic one.

As far as everyone in the throne room for Cersei's coronation, it appeared to be the Lannister army and their bannerman only. We already have the example of the North rebelling when Ned was killed. So House Tyrell and all of the Reach must have bailed on her. It is seriously House Lannister against the world now and they don't have enough of anything.

That's the one thing that they'll need to address quickly next season. Having already laid the groundwork for every single region/Great House to be allied against House Lannister now. Even House Tyrell's original alliance for the Iron Throne was one they didn't really want to do. There is zero chance she can find any allies. Lannister bannermen and petty houses would be wise to surrender to Dany/any other force as quickly as possible to avoid being blood purged for something like that.

EDIT: About Arya, I do agree that giving her a dues ex mechanic like faceless magic without being tempered by dogmatic religious beliefs to govern it could be a bit OP and lead to shitty writing. There is nobody she cannot become as far as we know.

Lets hope they use it intelligently.

I also wonder where house Frey is going to sit after all this. Jamie told them to eff off and we have no clue how much time passed between then and Frey's assassination. I'd assume not being in the throne room would indicate they're not keen on Lannister now, either.

Next season is only an 8 episode season, yeah? So I assume the main theme will be Dany conquering Westeros and then realizing the real threat is up North. I wonder just how important it will be for Jon to have Stark and Targ blood with the whole Ice & Fire theme.

So who kills Cersei? Jaime, Arya, Tyrion, Dany, Queen of Thorns, Drogon, Other?

You can make a great case for any of them. Will The Hound ever get to face The Mountain?

Given the "little brother" prophecy, it'll either be Jaime or Tyrion. Or Arya wearing either of their faces.

Not to mention the Tyrells were the ones feeding King's Landing, House Lannister is broke, and Jaime just told the Freys to F off. Cersei isn't going to be sitting on that throne for very long.

Only three questions I have:

1) How did the Mountain gain access to Tommen? Were all the other Kingsguard on a smoke break or are we to believe they just let him pass?
2) The Cersei coronation was a bit jarring in pace. Is she the rightful heir with everyone else dead, or are we to assume she just seized it unchallenged?
3) How does Cersei think she's going to keep the throne with Dorne and the Martells obviously being made instant enemies?

To the most powerful goes the crown always. I think I have said it here a few times. Blood lines and "rightful" heirs only matter in peace time.
