I would say that the "average" grunt style programmer would only be $60k a year. $90k sounds like a higher tier. Maybe more schooling.
You also have to keep in mind other cost issues like building lease/mortgage, insurance, maintenance, equipment (like new computers for people). It's all very expensive.
Then you have to factor in the pay scale for all of the voice actors. They probably get paid a flat daily rate regardless of how many lines they actually have. So yeah, it all adds up and quickly at that. The 3 year thing is the biggest killer. That's a LONG time to front the bill with no incoming funds.
