What mod powers did Sean abuse? I'm honestly asking, as I wasn't aware he abused mod powers unless you're talking about several months ago.

As for fighting with and insulting people and getting a thread shaw'd, as retarded as it was, it's not really an infractable offense. If we infracted everyone for acting like idiots, this section would be a lot more populated. I'm sure it has happened in the past, but let's not act like we regularly shaw people for acting like morons. As I've said before, even if it was, the moderators aren't infracting other moderators. It would have to come from Tuco or Draegan.

But weren't people actually infracted and RRPed from those threads? I could have sworn that there were but maybe I'm wrong.

I don't think anyone gives a fuck about getting infracted per se, they're ticked that there seems to be a double standard where posters will get infracted but a Mod who engages in the same behavior seems to get a free pass because, as you say,"moderators aren't infracting other moderators". And even that is a minor issue compared to the impression people have that a Mod can actively create/escalate a situation, infract people who then go apeshit as a result and then walk away to do it all over again in another thread immediately - and afterwards we get to hear the"but they weren't abusing their Mod powers"defense. And really the only significant response that any one sees (publicly) isOTHERMods rushing to argue with the people who are bitching, so not only does bad Mod behavior seem to get tacit approval due to inaction you have Mods who only seem concerned about the people who are complaining and not what led to the complaints in the first place.



This is probably a good place for a Mod to respond that only a handful of the "Bads" here are complaining so it doesn't matter, or any number of other seemingly popular choices for when people start complaining. Because clearly Mods/Admins stooping to argue with the proles while actually telling them that they absolutely, positively won't address their complaints is the best course of action here.

Do you think its a solid plan to hold moderators and regular posters to the same standards?

Lumie can post, so if an admin posts stuff like he does, thats ok?

He is indirectly abusing his mod power to get away with retarded posts (as you labeled them). Noone benefits from that, quite the contrary.

Perhaps this should be taken further. I'll see when I have the time and am bored enough.

The mods seem to have decided that all this was caused because we mocked Sean's illness or something, rather than he started it by claiming everyone else without his dedication to games was a bad.

Selective memory, but I guess anything rather than admit that Sean is essentially immune from being RPPed simply because he is a mod. Hell, Tuco even RRPEd people for doing a minor version of what Sean was doing the very next day.

I've never been one to agree with the typical anti-mod brigade, but I'm sorry guys. From a neutral, outsider's standpoint they're right. Sean went aspie-loco above and beyond what many people have been RRP'd for and it's been entirely white-washed. I'm all for favoritism being shown when it's deserved but the guy's doing more harm than good at this point if people have to worry about a nuclear meltdown in every videogame thread Sean participates in.
