How is.. the combat system? and by combat i mean fist fighting or baseball bats etc.

I always found the previous GTA games to be absolutely awful in those senses, compared to a game like Sleeping Dogs. Do you get anything more beyond simply mashing 1 button to punch over and over? lol

What Sleeping Dogs had in melee combat, it had a negative amount of in the fucking vehicle driving and handling. I absolutely love that game, but fuck everything except kicking a bitch in the face Bruce Lee style.

I am exceptionally bad at driving in this game. It seems overly sensitive and I am having trouble not crashing. Clearly I suck but it is making me hate the driving parts. This is my first GTA type game though, so maybe after some practice I won't be so crappy.

Can't remember if it has changed since the last one but if you lock on to a target each button has an action punch kick or dodge. It's simple and I personally don't think it needs to be any more complex.

People having trouble driving don't worry after playing for around 5-6 hours I'm driving MUCH better then I was at the beginning. Fuck I was retarded for the first hour after that I got used to the handling and it's been a blast driving.

Different cars make a huge difference in handling too. Also, the bike you get in the special garage is awesome as fuck.

You'll be fine. I had that experience when I first played GTA: San Andreas because I was used to Gran Turismo and other racing games. It might help if you find a bigass semi or dump truck, those will be a little more familiar and may ease you into the touchiness of GTA handling.

Is it just me or is that street racing mission with Franklin insanely hard? If I hit anything to knock me off course just once it was game over.

It's hard to begin with but I found it was actually a really good way to teach you how to drive. By the end of it driving became easy.
