I'd rather them make the best possible use of the system hardware than keep using an inferior engine like GTA4's. It sucks if you bought the digital version, but at least on the PS3 you can very trivially and inexpensively upgrade the HDD on it to make it run just fine and if you run a lot of shit off the HDD you should do that anyways since the PS3's stock HDD is a steaming pile of garbage.

It's pretty dumb to go digital on a system using areallycrappy 5400 rpm drive.

Mostly I take issue with Sean being an apologist for Rockstar, excusing the issues because it wasn't "meant" to run solely from the HD of an old PS3. That's just plain garbage. The only "notice" I saw was Rockstar's advice to Xbox360 users. If I didn't follow this thread, I'd probably have just bought the digital version, and I'd have been hosed with an inferior version of the game.

Yeah I'm under the impression that it runs better than dog shit. If it's unplayable I agree with you. I'll never experience it for myself because I've got a SSD that delivers 550MB/s read times.

And how is the average consumer supposed to know about any of that shit?

I dunno, I was watching some comparison videos and personally I think that "dog shit" is fairly apt. In a game where driving around really fast is central to the core gameplay, having terrible pop up and missing buildings etc when driving around really fast would be a wee bit of a piss off simply because you thought that paying the same price for a digital edition would entitle you to an equivalent experience.

Doing the assassination missions for Franklin and I've had 'error market down' for him for 2-3 days now for the balsaq(sp) market. Anyone else having this problem? Now I have $70k in a damn stock I cannot get to and cannot make any other sales as well. I made sure the PS3 is online , and it works fine for the other 2 dudes.

Bitch please, you're not an average fucking consumer and don't pretend to be one. No one on this board should be enough of a dipshit to ever pretend like loading anything off a 5400 rpm drive is a good idea. You crying because *you* fucked up is pretty hilariously sad.

The vast majority of the "average" consumer when it comes to console games also buys Discs and it's pretty much a non-issue.

I must have a 7200 rpm drive in my PS3 then, because my experience hasn't been anything close to the "dogshit" that Eomer describes.
