I vote we go back to cartridges.

It's pretty weak that Sean can act like a retard and ruin the thread with his sperg rage, but if someone calls him out for maybe being a bit too into video games they get RRP'd.

Act like a retard long enough, and people will start hitting back. If Daddy Moderator puts his foot down only after the other side is trolled long and hard enough to start responding in kind, we are enabling the exact behavior that fucked the thread up in the first place.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure you're right about it not supporting TRIM which is definitely not good. Right on all the other accounts as well. It's just not worth the huge price jump for the very minimal increases. A good 7200rpm drive is definitely worth it though and will give you a performance improvement in quite a number of games. It greatly improves load times, texture-streaming, pop-in. Upgrading the HDD has even helped with FPS lag problems in certain games like Skyrim amazingly enough.

The same can more or less be applied to the X360 as well, though I believe the X360 has a size cap of 320GB.

Yes, my apologizes for acting out of line and taking things too far. I was upset at an uneducated person insinuating blatantly false and ill-conceived notions out of something I said and retaliated in an unfit and unbecoming manner in moment of poor judgement. Unfortunately, beating someone over the head with something will not teach them proper context. I will endeavor to not use this method of discourse again.

I would also like to apologize. I thought I was dealing with a person who could examine his silliness once it was explained to him. Instead, I discovered I was dealing with someone who really has no context to what he finds important. This person knows one completely unimportant thing well and I had no idea he took it so personally. His personal attacks were so silly that I felt forced to respond in kind. I will endeavor to not use his method of discourse again.

Yeah, loading increases can be hit or miss really. Pop-in and streaming is always a pretty readily apparent gain though and the most important advantage of good drives imo. Loading times have never really bugged me and they're less of an issue now with how a lot of more modern game design does continuous areas. I like games where you only really deal with them when you first load it up.

I'm sorry Tuco, but seeing as how this whole thing was kicked off my Sean's response to me, I do feel compelled to respond. Regardless of whatever he says to me going forward, I'll leave it alone after this.

The vast majority of the "average" consumer when it comes to console games also buys Discs and it's pretty much a non-issue.

I haven't bought the game, so go fuck yourself. If a consumer can "fuck-up" by buying the "wrong" version of a game because their PS3 has the "wrong" hard drive in it, THEN THERE'S A FUCKING PROBLEM HERE.

Personally I'm waiting for the PC version. I think. Maybe I'll pick up the PS3 version on disc at some point. But probably PC.

Where? Point me to this disclaimer. Because all I saw was them giving advice to Xbox360 owners. There was never a public statement from Rockstar that the PSN version sucked dick.

It was in response to my saying "and how is the average consumer supposed to know about any of that shit?" That was the entire crux of my fucking issue with Rockstar here. That they are knowingly selling an inferior product to people, and not acknowledging that. That's a shitty way of dealing with things. Period.
