I only got a 1 pointer.
Sean are you such a fan of the GTA franchise because it was the first video game you could get laid in? Was losing your video game virginity better than your pillow virginity?
It's a bus speed thing. SSDs do show an improvement in speed over 7200RPM drives (of course), but the improvement is marginal and isn't generally worth the price increase. I seem to remember reading that the PS3 doesn't support TRIM, either, so the speed of your SSD will suffer over time anyway, where the 7200RPM won't have the same issue. What's the limitation with the PS3 where SSDs are only minor improvements over 7200RPM drives? Does it have shitty SATA or is there some other bottleneck? I was thinking about throwing one in, but if the upgrade is negligible probably not.
People were acting like children, I come and say to stop. Whoever doesn't stop with the shit generation gets hit. I don't care who did what because it's all an indecipherable pile of shit to me and everyone involved should be ashamed of what they've done. It's pretty weak that Sean can act like a retard and ruin the thread with his sperg rage, but if someone calls him out for maybe being a bit too into video games they get RRP'd.
Act like a retard long enough, and people will start hitting back. If Daddy Moderator puts his foot down only after the other side is trolled long and hard enough to start responding in kind, we are enabling the exact behavior that fucked the thread up in the first place.People were acting like children, I come and say to stop. Yeah, I'm pretty sure you're right about it not supporting TRIM which is definitely not good. Right on all the other accounts as well. It's just not worth the huge price jump for the very minimal increases. A good 7200rpm drive is definitely worth it though and will give you a performance improvement in quite a number of games. It greatly improves load times, texture-streaming, pop-in. Upgrading the HDD has even helped with FPS lag problems in certain games like Skyrim amazingly enough. It's a bus speed thing. Yes, my apologizes for acting out of line and taking things too far. I was upset at an uneducated person insinuating blatantly false and ill-conceived notions out of something I said and retaliated in an unfit and unbecoming manner in moment of poor judgement. Unfortunately, beating someone over the head with something will not teach them proper context. I will endeavor to not use this method of discourse again.Act like a retard long enough, and people will start hitting back. Seriously, look at the shit Sean has spouted over the last 10 pages. Sure, put the whole retard crew in RRP if you want, but don't ignore the instigator.
I would also like to apologize. I thought I was dealing with a person who could examine his silliness once it was explained to him. Instead, I discovered I was dealing with someone who really has no context to what he finds important. This person knows one completely unimportant thing well and I had no idea he took it so personally. His personal attacks were so silly that I felt forced to respond in kind. Yeah, loading increases can be hit or miss really. Pop-in and streaming is always a pretty readily apparent gain though and the most important advantage of good drives imo. Loading times have never really bugged me and they're less of an issue now with how a lot of more modern game design does continuous areas. I like games where you only really deal with them when you first load it up.From my experience some games' loading systems aren't optimized to use more read bandwidth than a low end HDD. You can sit through a 10s loading sequence and watch your SSD not break a sweat. Worse yet the CPU usage isn't high either so it's just sitting there jerking off while you stare at a load screen.
I haven't bought the game, so go fuck yourself. If a consumer can "fuck-up" by buying the "wrong" version of a game because their PS3 has the "wrong" hard drive in it, THEN THERE'S A FUCKING PROBLEM HERE.Bitch please, you're not an average fucking consumer and don't pretend to be one. No one on this board should be enough of a dipshit to ever pretend like loading anything off a 5400 rpm drive is a good idea. You crying because *you* fucked up is pretty hilariously sad.
The vast majority of the "average" consumer when it comes to console games also buys Discs and it's pretty much a non-issue.
Where? Point me to this disclaimer. Because all I saw was them giving advice to Xbox360 owners. There was never a public statement from Rockstar that the PSN version sucked dick.Sean_sl said:They put out a disclaimer that the experience wouldn't be as good loading it off just the HDD.
Oh, so you admit then that Rockstar and/or Sony have been selling an inferior product digitally, and have not advised paying customers that that is actually the case?Sean_sl said:Unfortunately it was just for the X360 version - they said to not install both discs to the HDD since the game is built to run off the Disc + HDD install. This isn't a problem for the disc version of the PS3 version since it doesn't give you the play disc install option.
OH REALLY! Let's go back to one of your first posts before this thread blew the FUCK up last night, which just so happens to be the first quote in this post above. It was in response to my saying "and how is the average consumer supposed to know about any of that shit?" That was the entire crux of my fucking issue with Rockstar here. That they are knowingly selling an inferior product to people, and not acknowledging that. That's a shitty way of dealing with things. Period. Why you can't simply admit that and move on, I have no idea. It's fucking hilarious though. You're literally the only person posting in this thread that doesn't agree. Do you realize how fucking ridiculous you look? Everyone else does!Sean_sl said:This had absolutely NOTHING to do with the average consumer, you illiterate fucktard. This was about people on gaming forums, gaming-enthusiasts and the like. If you think I was talking about the average consumer for even a second then you are freaking idiot.
Yours is the existence that is sad.
Sony did sort of try to deny its existence though...http://www.gamespot.com/news/sony-is...ersion-6414744Where? Point me to this disclaimer. Because all I saw was them giving advice to Xbox360 owners. There was never a public statement from Rockstar that the PSN version sucked dick.
