I've seen some kabob grills that are basically the same shape, just on legs and made of metal. But I think I could make a raised cement block version pretty easily and cheaper.

Yeah I was trying to think of a way to do it without destroying your lawn. Cement blocks would be a good way to go and it would be easy enough to disassemble and shove in the corner of the garage between parties.

Anyone ever made a table top bbq to cook skewers on for an outdoor party? It's something I'm considering for an upcoming event, and I know there are plans out there with fire bricks and so forth, but anyone here ever done it?

Going to be hosting a house-warming cookout at my house in a few weeks.

Doing the standard hot dogs, hamburgers, marinated chicken, steak tips, linguica - probably some corn, although I've never grilled corn.

What are some other things we can look into that might be a bit different? No seafood, no one really likes it. Preferably something I can make on the grill that won't take forever. I think I've hit every major meat category, but just looking for ideas.
My friend is a huge griller and he picked up (and got me a copy also) ofBobby Flay's Barbecue Addiction. This was a a year or so ago and he's made dozens of the recipes at this point and every single one has been fan-fucking-tastic. Highly recommended if you like to grill.

I have. Did you want to know something in particular?

Brutul is talking about roughly this, though the Good Eats one had a higher production value (i.e., it looked nicer).

I've always thought something like this would be absolutely badass, but a tad impractical most of the time:

Would cost a goddamned fortune in charcoal to get that thing completely fired up.

So for this party, since it is a taco bar, I was thinking of doing a huge thing of margaritas but now I am thinking of doing sangria because I feel that will be more universally liked. Anyone have a recipe that they like? I will probably make like 5 gallons of it.

Made this for parties when I wanted to do a Sangria:Sangria! Sangria! Recipe - Allrecipes.com

Was definitely a hit, so I would recommend it! Definitely consider the alteration some of the people recommend of switching out club soda for ginger ale. I think I prefer the sangria that way, but maybe you'll have to do a taste test to see what you like yourself

Seems like it would be annoying to sit that close to the grill.
Plus it would take like 3 bags of charcoal to get that thing going.

Also each person in that pic is apparently having a porterhouse the size of their head and then following it up with a couple chicken breasts, 3 or 4 brats, and some veggie kabobs.

Maybe it is the McCheese family reunion

Made a pork tenderloin in a crockpot last night and it was really dry and disappointing. How do you fuck up a crockpot recipe?

By using pork tenderloin. It has very little fat and would be difficult to cook well in a crock pot situation.

I figured soaking in juices for 12hours would make it moist as fuck. I am disappoint.

No fat or connective tissue will defeat the purpose of crock pot meat.

What do people usually do with leftover steak? I want to eat it as is because it's at the perfect doneness, but I don't want to eat it cold. Heating it up will ruin the doneness.

Old steak i mix with fresh rice and defrosted mixed veggies, the steak and oils will give it flavor, no need to add nuttin. This is a super lazy dish btw, rice cooker is a two minute affair, frozen mixed veggies, take bag out stab a few vent holes and three mins its ready. I do add seseme oil to all my rice while it cooks, super aroma.

Steak salad, steak sandwich are my go-tos. For the salad I don't mind cold, for the sandwich I make a quick sauce, toast the bun, make the sandwich and let it sit for a couple of minutes for the heat to evenly distribute.
