The actual Cinder device doesn't sound very impressive, but the idea that kitchen devices are getting more precise in temperature control is what I like. I just realized a few weeks ago that one of my electric burners runs hotter than the other and now I compensate for it. But if stoves had more control than medium-high, then I never would have had that problem.

If I were to sous vide my flank steak IN the marinade, would that fuck up the meat? I'm worried about drying shit out.

just don't leave it in for like 6hours when it turns to mush. are you gonna freeze the marinade in steak to vacuum it? or use displacement?

I think I'm going to just pre-marinade in the fridge, drain, then sous vide for a couple hours.

I was going to make a Chimichurri saws, but all the parsley at the store looked like shit.

Nothing rustles me more than going to the grocery store and their entire selection of X produce looks like a compost heap.

cooking bro's do you buy herbs or grow 'em? does it depend on your freshness or your living situation (rent/own), what about indoor hydroponics, or the aerogarden stuff.

I have a basil plant inside in a small pot and that's it. I've had it for about five months and it's looking rough. I need a better solution that may involve a grow light.

I have a huge herb that I use during growing season. I was thinking about making one in my basement during the winter, you know, grow lights and all. Might seem suspicious.

I honestly don't like growing things, but the wife wants a garden so I now have seedlings of like 20 herbs starting out.

I think I may have actually picked up some tainted loose-leaf lettuce. Made a salad with it Sat night, then spent a good part of Sunday running to the bathroom every 10m-15m. I thought it was the breakfast I had on Sat morning, but I made a salad late last night and since I woke up this morning it's been the same damn shit all over again.

I also only have a basil plant. Once I'm out of my townhouse and have an actual yard, I'd like to grow all kinds of veggies and herbs.

Was it organic? Reason I ask is because I know a lot of organic farmers use turkey shit to fertilize their crops and you can get the shits real easy if you dont wash it yourself.

Not that I know of, though I guess anything is possible and I don't really do more than rinse my lettuce anyways.

Just about all foodborne illnesses take 36-48 hours to incubate in your system and to start making you sick. There are a few exceptions that are shorter, with the most likely one being staph. But I don't think is very likely to have been in lettuce.

Weird. Can't really think of what it could have been, other than the 2 lbs of almonds I pigged out on over the weekend or that I ate a lot of hummus late in the week. No nausea, nothing but rampant bubbleguts for days. Thought I was in the clear today but I wasn't even through my first cup of coffee this morning before I had to rush to the bathroom.

I need to page Dr Aychamo about my brown eye issues (well, partially red now)

Couldn't lettuce cause agitation in someone who has diverticulosis?
