+1 for Age of Wonders 3. I still play it. The newer Age of Wonders: Planetfall Im not really able to get behind. I put a lot of hours into Stellaris years ago, but everytime I think about going back, I just think of what a slog the game feels like, and never do. Just to give an idea of where Im coming from.
I will def check out some of these recs.
Speaking of hotseating, shoutout to Warlords (the original) and Fantasy Empires. Played Warlords so much I can still draw the map 30 years later. Fuck Im old.
