Another point to consider since, 90% of this game is pretty pretty dressup.
Greatswords are by FAR the most interesting looking weapons. They get 10x as many cool skins any any other weapon. Most 1 handed weapons like knives and pistols may as well not even exist in terms of cool skins.
Heavy, medium, or light is more complicated. I am a bit partial to the light armors.
Also, the new 9th class is a heavy armor too.

played my engi. was super dissappointed to find it basically the same. oh, you are still bored with grenades? too bad. grenades are still the only viable way to play. hope you like zerkers too. Zerkers still clearly better then everything else. even after the crit/crit damage "nerf".
Finally finished off the last chapter of the personal story, doing arah, and killing zhaitan.
and then, ran through the last 2 Living world chapters of season 2. (Amusingly out of order, which creates some bizarre scenarios, telling me I did things... that I didn't do. alot of talking about things, I had no knowledge of)
Living world stuff is pretty cool now. All solo gameplay really.. although I imagine bringing help, would aid with challenge runs. Which is a very cool addition to it. challenges.
Was very disappointed to see having to BUY with CASH, Living world chapters that I missed by not having logged on during that time period. Seems like a dick move. in the future, I will know to log in once a month I guess at least, even when on a break from the game. I think, I was able to play the last 2 chapters for free, because I logged in during xmas, and thus unlocked that last chapter for free, without even knowing it. and the current one is current.
Anyone know if that is the case? also, have they said if future Living world stories are permanent?
Seasons one is gone. you can't go back and play it. Before I BUY season 2, I want to know if those will vanish on me as well, if I don't get to them in time.
Exploring the new zone, found the jump puzzle just from basic exploring. A friendly runner, came by running a guild mate through, and kindly showed me most of the way. (they dropped out about 75% through, leaving me to find the rest of the way.) god damn those puzzles are nuts. no way I would have figured out all that doubling back over and over myself.
its a bit surprising they didn't announce or seemingly make any effort for player housing in the expac. one of the prime motivators and places of interest for pretty dress up.

Log in at least bi-weekly to keep up getting free LS updates, assuming they keep the format. I havent played any of them since summer but might start them to catch up. I made it a routine to log in every sunday to make sure they are all unlocked. Somehow I havent really questioned if them charging for missed episodes is a rip-off because it's a clear upgrade from the shitty season 1 situation, which was "you missed it or the item you wanted didnt drop? too bad". Wish they would make season 1 available in the new format too, I love me some Aetherblade retreat or Molten facility but I dont feel like playing fractal roulette to see them again.

I get that's just a cheap shot, but he asked about how Anet handles the season releases. They sucked at keeping a steady bi-weekly schedule in season 2 and had a measly 8 or so (?) episodes over 9 months, but during some of that he would have missed some of them by only logging in once a month.
@Caliane you can replay an episode whenever you want once you unlock it by logging in while it runs or buying it.

The way they implemented season one and two are different. Season one was made in mind that it would be temporary content that would change the game and you had to be there for it or miss it. After complaints of just that, they implemented season two to be permanent content and done much like the personal story which is why a lot of parts are solo instances. I'm not sure if they announced that they would bring season one back, it would definitely need some tweaking in order to do so since it involved existing public zones which have already changed since season one, one of which was lion's arch which acted like silverwastes near the end of season one. All living story parts from season two and on are permanent and can be played later on including the zones, if you missed an episode they will charge you for it (yeah it sucks star trek online does the same with new episodes but they don't charge for it last I looked)
As for engineers, zerk is still the way to go for most pve for any class, for spvp and wvw it's a different story. The new meta for small groups is to immobilize and then condition spam with nades, you're dead in seconds if they catch you because conditions are getting to the point that they can throw more on you than you can clear off unless you're running in a zerg. Heard bombs are decent to play with now too. Condi bombing gets ridiculous in T3 and below, it's not that bad in T1/2 since there's more zerg fighting people are specced mostly for that.

The lack of tanks and healers was something I could never come to grips with in this game. Running the PVE dungeons was nothing but a source of frustration. Pugging dungeons in Wildstar was not as painful as running GW2 dungeons in full guild groups with voice chat.

Dungeon fights are rather open ended and there are some I quite enjoy, like Baelfire in citadel of flame, but it doesn't help that half of the mechanics in most encounters can be ignored and most people can only learn a single strat instead of adapting on the fly. Jade Maw has been in the game for over 2 years and people still don't understand how the shards work and how you get more or how they despawn.
My cousin is trying to use my guild wars 2 account I haven't used it in forever, and its telling him "either there is no guild wars 2 event or this account is not authorized to participate in one etc etc"
I looked in my emails I have the emails showing I paid for the game, showing I activated the account for the 3 day headstart wich I remember doing all of that and I played the game so not sure why it would say this.
