Well I know her already. We're not what you call best friends but I meet and talk to her and her mom at least 2-4 times a year. So it's not like a 100% random stranger out of the blue. I had passed the thought that her mother kind of kept her in touch over the years because she had a clue or "feelings". She has an accounting degree. So no degree of the month. She went to a much better college that me and her mom went to. I'm not sure I kind of thought at the time her parents sent her to a small university in a more rural area to avoid the pitalls of big town colleges. So much for that.

It's amazing the amount of negative feedback I got from my close friends that couldn't believe I actually talk to a girlfriend from 25 years ago on a regular basis.

Well, cancer averted for now.

Had 5 polyps removed, four 5mm buggers and a juicy 1cm one. Also diverticulosis in sigmoid and descending colon. Now I gotta get scoped every 3 years. Guess it beats colon cancer.

Every 3 years doesn't sound that bad. Congrats. I'm the one in 1,000 that thought a colonoscopy wasn't that bad.

Yeah, that's wierd. Why be negative about that? I mean if that's possible isn't it the best possible outcome?

As long as someone isn't pining for the other one. "We used to fuck, we decided to stop doing that, but it's not like we hate each other and we keep in touch" is pretty much the dream for ex-girlfriends.

I'm not really upset and apparently things worked out much better than average for them. It's not like I was Mr. Unemployed so need to stay away from him. Of course if she had grown up with me as dad things would not be that great for her right now. So probably right, best possible outcome. One bullet dodged is my wife never wanted kids like me so it's not like I went out and had a kid with someone else on purpose and not her.

It isn't actually all that terrible as long as you get an early AM appointment. The procedure itself is a nothingburger, and the prep honestly isn't all that bad either. The worst thing is the hunger from the fasting, which is mitigated by taking an early AM appointment. This last one (it's my 2nd colonoscopy) was at noon, which was a beating, because you spend all morning parched and hungry.

I'm up to date now on the newest psychology terms. Just letting you guys know.

Apparently batshit crazy is not one. Others that were incredibly basic I didn't know till I was filled in.

Two days with the wife and an ex that may be the mother of my child I learned more than I ever knew was out there. A few years ago I would have said just that sentence alone would have required me to don the body armor. Now I think I'm gonna take some extra testosterone or something just to be sure.

But you better believe I'm waiting to break out a few terms on people on this board.

Did they not tell you that you could drink water up to about 2 hours beforehand?

Nope. My instructions said no water past midnight except for a “few sips” to take any medication I have to take. But looking at generic instructions online it seems 2hrs is the norm.

The nothing by mouth by midnight is generally for those with early procedures or those who aren't going to be compliant WITH NO FOOD. But, I think you can have clear broth up to 4 hours before and water 2 hours before.

Off the top of my head, my instructions have been clear liquids allowed during the prep, but nothing the morning/day of the procedure

Could be a ploy by Kuriin Kuriin to extend the butt stuff. Drink/eat and you have to go twice.

Haha. I don't wish long fasting for anyone. Always feel bad for our patients who have to wait the following morning for a colonoscopy.

I couldn't find a thread specifically for mental health so I guess this is the best place to post. Have any forum member delt with long term depression? Like years and years? And who have tried counseling, medication etc.

If so and you have made improvements can you send me a pm. It will be anonymous. I would just like to hear some other people on what options they pursued and if they had any breakthrough moments.

I've heard ketamine is a "breakthrough" for serious depression. There are some local shrinks who even advertise it as an IV therapy now. Probably costs 1000X what a dose at your local gay bar will cost, but it supposedly works well.

Ketamine and MDMA are great for depression. Low dose ketamine - like 0.05-0.1mg/kg and go into an awesome euphoria.

Depends what you mean by depression. Two months ago you were talking about dating a new girl. Did that go badly? You should be depressed. Go through it, don't avoid it. Avoiding it would work this time but make the next one worse. And you can end up in a spot where you're taking a pill every day just to get out of bed if you do that long enough.

It's tricky. Depression is a very wide word and some forms of it are necessary. other forms of it are NOT, they are crippling and degenerative. But honestly, physical exertion is your quickest long term ticket out and, this one's easy to say hard to do, some willful interaction with productive distraction.I

The worst thing you can do is sit and stew. The second worst thing is suppression with drugs.

I have suffered from depression for at least the last 4-5 years. I'm sure a quality anti depressent would be a big help. My issue so far is I only have time/resources to go to so many doctors and they all want it to done by a specialist which cuts into my time with other doctors. I got married tho with my long term girlfriend. I guess that's helping. Find out next week if I have a 25 year old daughter.

I'm of the "hit it head on" approach, but I don't know really why.

Incredibly simplistic and no duh. Getting excercise and doing things you used to like to do more often. I think if I could get #1 i'd be in much better shape, but that's not really a depression cause in my case.

Hey big I. Gonna move my response to this over in the depression thread
