I don't ever pay for it in the first place. I just send them a copy of the bill that the hospital is requesting, and they add funds to a copay assist credit card to pay for it that way. It only has funds after they add them to it. Then it's back to a zero balance once more.
We don’t pay any more (new jobs, better insurance, and they switched us to a generic), the nice thing was it counted toward out of pocket expense as far as the insurance company was concerned so we hit the max a month into the year.

Greetings brethren. Odd question for you folks.

How big of a deal is genital herpes these days? I got a bj for 2-3 minutes unprotected before smasing with a condom. I'm paranoid. There's still no cure for this scumbag disease. I have no symptoms yet but its only been 24 hours.
Day 14 and no symptoms. I'm good!

welp months of cardio seems to be helping, my latest ejection fraction test puts me at 55%. I was <40% 6 months ago. Healthy is 50-60 with a top end for athletes around 70%.

but honestly raking fucking leaves is the best work out and I credit that with my recovery and i'll fight anyone who says otherwise
welp gotta take the good with the bad I suppose. Facts of life.

just got back from hemo and my blood numbers have fucking tanked (hemoglobin, iron, and ferrotin? stored iron) and I need to do more IV iron infusions and double my iron intake to get my numbers back up. It's looking like my hemo is recovering (it wasn't too low) but i definitely lost a bunch of blood over the last 3 months and my body used up all the stored up iron to replace it.

So while my heart is recovering and able to pump blood more efficiently that blood that it's pumping has been carrying less oxygen so it's kinda a wash which explains why i'm getting winded and my heart rate has been so high doing strenuous activities. It's not at the level where it was but i gotta get this surgery to fix this leaky blood vessel in my abdomen asap, this shit is annoying.

So far the switch to Amazon pharmacy has been mixed. Still in process btw.

CVS transferred everything over except the supply amount is all 30 day doses rather than 90. Still waiting insurance approval on a bunch of them to see if it was actuslly worthwhile.

The only reason to do online pharmacy is for the 90 day doses. It saves the dispensing fee 2/3 of the time.

Similar with my daughter’s RA injections. $12k per month out of pocket because my insurance at the time was shit, but the pharma company has some sort of program where you submit your receipt and they send you check or direct deposit into an account.
This probably won't work for Noodle if it is his insurance that isn't covering it.

The way those manufacturer discount codes work is basically like

Drug company makes drug for $300, sells it to you for $20,000 and your copay is $12,000.

They know if you actually had to pay $12k you would probably not use the medicine so they give you a coupon where they'll cover your $12k and just take the $8k from your insurance. Someone else who has better insurance maybe they get the full $20k or something like $16k if their copay is less than yours.

Those coupons won't work if you are just paying cash and not going through insurance (as in Noodle's case where is insurance isn't approving it), or if you are on Medicare those codes are illegal IIRC

Sometimes there may be an indigent program where they will help out if you make very little income but I doubt Noodle would qualify for that

Yeah it's lame insurance. Either way Amazon got me the new med just fine - saxagliptin. I'm on quite a few meds, so I am working on exercising more and less carbs than what I already cut down to.

The best part of my day is my sugar free Pepsi at lunch :(

Immediately stopped when I had the tumor removed until they could tell me what it was. That was ruled out. Pepsi tastes like ass mixed with cat shit (for color) , enjoy.

EDIT: I should add, I also stopped playing video games (Was playing FF16 on the PS5 when my wife found me on the floor with the seizure) as well. Longest fucking month of my life, and not JUST because I wasn't sure if the tumor was 'walk away' type or 'fuck you get in the coffin type'.

before i turned 18, i stopped drinking alcohol, soda and smoking pot. never drank anything with caffeine or smoked. and i still starting falling apart when i hit 50 lol.

=

my stitches are healing pretty good, found out i am allergic to the medical tape i was using to cover it.

1744379636614.png

apparently it is a common thing, and they make stuff to put on before tape.

as the sides are mostly closed and hasn't leaked in a couple of days, using a large fabric type bandaid which i don't seem to have a reaction too.

if wonder why that shape around the wound. i was told the incision was going to be under an inch and didn't ask anything about it after it was done. so i bought 2x2 gauze pads. with it being larger, turning the pad covers it better and just clip off the corners. i have had several stitches, staples, and glued up wounds, this is the 1st time my orders were to keep it covered with vaseline and gauze for the full 2 weeks.

Im legit scared of that "phase" whenever it may happen to me. My friend group is all over. I made a buddy through my ex thats 23 (long story, and shes a whore) and he's been riding his crotch rocket, learning how to do wheelies and other shit on it. Completely obnoxious, but I see his fuck ups and Im passively thinking "Fucking hell, man. You're going to feel that crazy shit when you're my age." Yet Im only 38 (39 Oct). Meanwhile Im doing shit in the gym and hearing guys in their 50's and later saying the same fucking thing to me about the weight Im lifting. "If you think you're hurting bad now, wait till you're my age." Like no, bro. I'll fucking do steroids and die early if thats the case. lol

If they ever crack the code for cell regeneration, even if it doesnt extend a person's life - I'll still be standing in line to get the shit. Fuck wearing all those knee straps, elbow straps and all that shit.

Dr. had me switch from neurontin/gabapentin to Lyrica. I'm having some pretty serious mental issues which I've had before but this just started so I looked up the side effects of Lyrica. If you see the side effects it's like a list of all the shit I am trying to fix that I already have. Two days and I am off of Lyrica now I guess.

Doesnt that kind of stuff take one to two weeks for it to do whatever its supposed to in your system? Just asking, not chastising.

Kind of thought so to. Dr. said take that does for a month and then he would up it if no problems. I stopped after two days because of issues and that issue went away.

Well screw me, last year had a sonogram done that showed 3 kidney stones. Called urologist and they ordered a CT scan. Went in, they told, didn't show, I just had one 5mm stone. Go in today for my 6 month check in. She shows me the CT from last year. 3 stones, one is 6-7mm others smaller. Can have Lazer snake done now. They only do the sound blaster if it shows up on a front X-ray, which it isn't yet going to wait till have no choice

Brother in law had a non cancerous brain tumor (vestibular schwannoma) removed last year. The sucker had been growing for an estimated 10 years and was too large to treat with anything other than surgery. While the surgery was considered successful, they had to leave more of it in there than planned. They monitored it for a while as there was the possibility that it might stop growing, but no luck there. On the up side, it was now small enough for radiation. He just completed 4 weeks of it and feels like death, most food tastes awful, severe fatigue.

He had an appointment with the ENT who was part of the surgery team a few days after the radiation, goes over the radiation treatment notes and loses his shit. It turns out that they gave him too high a dose and did too many sessions. They had also told him that because he had already had brain surgery, treating the tumor with more precise radiosurgery was off the table, which he had never head before. He's going to get in touch with his neurosurgeon and plans to raise hell with the office that did the radiation. While I'm glad about that, where the fuck does that leave the patient? While he's glad to still be alive, his life has been pretty fucking miserable the last few weeks because of this.

Just FYI there is basically no world in which a fucking ENT has any clue what they’re talking about in regards to radiation dosing and fractionation. Rad Onc is basically a completely separate world from all other medical specialties.
