?? It'd be easier to balance. It gives a bigger margin for error. If they accidentally print an OP card, not just one class has access to it.
If other classes had spirit claws, totem golem and maelstrom portal, midrange shaman wouldn't be as dominate.

As for what others have said, yea I was thinking it'd be similar to 'horde vs alliance' except a goblin faction vs gnome faction, but either way sort of works. It just would feel weird if 5 of the classes are in a certain faction and only 4 in the other, and doing it based on hero makes previously cosmetic changes now effect in-game rules. So, I feel like each faction will have various cards that different classes can use.
A 'sniper gun' that hunter/rogue both can use. A 'zap o matic' that mage/warlock/priest all can use. A 'mechanical pop out shield' for warrior/paladin/druid. Assign the card classes it based on the flavor or mechanics of the card itself.

Horde vs Alliance cards could work if they released 9 alternate heroes with the expansion to make sure each class had both factions available for "free".

These would be Neutral cards restricted to Faction, so all 9 classes could still use but now there is flavor between heroes. I could see it happening eventually.

It's the best when you have one of the shitty new quests and build a terrible deck to do it in casual and your opponent is doing the same thing and no one wins, you just let each other do things

I wish I had looked in more detail at the decks Thijs brought before choosing him. I hate both his Rogue and Druid decks lol
