Actually tried a couple of practice games vs some standard decks. The Frothing averaged ~18 damage, with a high of 22, in actual play. Alex was basically essential to the combo working in all cases and I was usually down to the last 2-3 cards in my deck when I won (opponents usually had 10-14 cards left).

I was using spell removal, but I think minions will actually be better. Both because they put some damage on the face (making Alex less important) and just having more minions on the board means more bumps for the Frothing.

Frothing really needs nerfed the same way armorsmith was and only gain attack for each damaged friendly minion. Way too easy to consistently get a 4/4 for 3 mana and he can get out of hand real quick like.

Also, never surrender. Had someone coin, double innervate an ancient of war turn 2 on me last night, thought hard about conceding on the spot, but I came back and won.

Did they say if they ever were going to incorporate chat into the matches because I can see some serious shit talking with how some of these games go. Been on a nice win streak lately between ranked and arena, basically playing rogue and hunter. Finally got a 100 coin quest as well. You can also tell when someone has first started playing, especially if they are mage (example: using up fireballs on turn 2 simply to clear the board).

Neat didn't know you got neutral basics golded eventually.
Oh yeah, classes past 50 start getting neutral gold basics, was wondering what class chillwind yeti is. Now I know, but still got a ways to go, my warrior is only about 30. Paladin is highest at 56 and mage and druid are nearing 50, next mages cards are fireballs and next druid cards are swipe so that is something to look forward to.

Ranked is weird. I just had a mage coin to frost nova a healing totem.

He fireballed it turn 4. He must've really hated it.
Strange, I just had a Hunter concede on like turn 4. I had an Armorsmith and two other minions down. I used Whirlwind, which gave me three armor and he just tapped out.
You play at the top ranks dont you? Otherwise I'd say it might be bots and or casuals? I'm strictly casualing it up in this and leave a game for as little as pizza being ready, phone calls or a tv show starting. Probably makes for some wtf reactions on the other side, last weekend I started a game just to show it to a friend that was picking me up and played like 5 turns, then quit in a "pretty much won" situation because we were leaving.

Lol I still suck at this game but have so much fun trying out stupid combos in arena.

Went 2-3 with a druid and the only spells that I was able to pick were 4 innervates .

No swipes or growths . Nothing lol so I got a bunch of low cost creatures with effects to just over run as best as I could.

I'm rank 9 atm. Not really top... I think the average top streamer is around rank 4 right now. But high enough up that you don't just want to concede out.

@Grayson: Huh, using free Molten Giants gives you 8 instances of damage. That is most of the way there (though it raises the total card count really high). Still, I think it might actually be a practical deck if you made a minion based version.

If you had a Gurubashi Berserker survive from the previous turn...

4 innervates is pretty fucking yolo. If you don't draw those things at the beginning of the match you're probably in big trouble. I don't think I would ever take more than 1... maybe 2 if I'm feeling crazy.

This is the first non-phone game I've really played in the last couple years. Really enjoying it other than the RNG frustration sometimes. Started at open beta and have been doing mostly arena. I'm probably far from a noob though from watching streams quite a bit from the beginning of closed beta (even though I'd never played any CCG before). Have already managed to get 12 wins a couple times (before even unlocking most basic cards) and I think I'm averaging around 6. It's interesting transitioning the knowledge from only watching streams to playing the game and seeing how well it does.

It really has to be a surprise.

I actually tried it in ranked. I went on a pretty decent win streak before losing back down. It has problems with heal heavy Paladins (they'll heal up after Alex). vs Hunters if your Armorsmiths do some some work you really can't lose (also Commanding Shout does work vs Explosive, especially with Armorsmiths down. You come out way ahead). Control mirror is bad, it beats agro mirror consistently though. It beats Rogue handily, especially miracle Rogue. I took literally every piece of damage this one Rogue had (Leeroy x3, both Shivs, both Evis, both Deadly Poison, weapon for 1 every turn, etc., he was down to a card left and had played every piece of his direct damage) and I was still at 10 health. Armor is awesome. One game I actually managed to pull off the combo turn 10. Alex turn 9, combo turn 10. I was down to 10 cards left, Pagle did some work that game.

It feels very unstable when you lose though.

Anyone have any suggestions for getting better at Arena? I've watched some Trump streams and feel like I'm drafting well, but I keep getting busted up with only 2 or 3 wins. I'd love to blame it on RNG since it seems like I'm always being dropped by perfect drops, but I really think I'm just playing poorly.

Cool. Just lost to a Mage in Arena that had 3 Sea Giants 1 Molten Giant and 1 Mountain Giant. Not even kidding. Yesterday I lost to someone that was able to create a bug over and over again that fucked with my turn. I fucking hate this game so much.

I'm assuming there is a hidden ELO in Arena...The matchups to start were a joke and I was never below 7-8 wins, but lately it seems to have ticked upward in difficulty...I still can get 7-8 wins in a Arena, but that is a lot harder and less common than it was at the beginning.

Unfortunately the only answer is more practice.
If this game is anything like Starcraft, which it isn't, you need to evaluate your faults and carefully not make them subsequent games to get better. Grinding out games making mistakes enforces those mistakes to become habits. And those are hard to break.

Shit like that is why I can't wait for them to wise up and make rarity mostly static - say 3 commons, 2 rates, 1 epic/legendary (80/20) every 6 cards or something like that.

That plus taking into account what's already shown to reduce ridiculous duplicate runs. Like -20% chance of the same card showing per previous instance.

Wasn't arena but played some rogue for 7 games after unlocking most cards.

Lost 2 from a stupid mistake on my part but the others worked great.

So far I think warlock , priest , rogue and hunter are my favorite classes to play.

I really want to get good with the shaman but just can not get the right mind set for it.
