How do you face downrankers once you get past 20/19? Or are they just staying level at somewhere other than 17 in hopes of running into fewer downrankers?
My definition of downranker might be different: people with decks at ranks they don't belong. I guess I could have just happen to run into a bunch of people that started laddering that day. All I know, I should not be regularly facing priests and warriors with expensive decks and being able to call what turn they throw out their legendaries. That type of consistency I thought only established itself under 10.

Has anyone been able to establish infinite arena since GvG? I know I'm a better arena player, my history says so. But some of these drafts and results lately have been depressing.

I think it's just people slow on the ladder this season. There's lots of golds playing the 17-18 right now.

Even with the vacation weekend factored in? How long does it take for a new season to shake itself out?

Also, fuck antique healbot. You got lethal? They got a healbot. Ran into a mage yesterday that killed my mad scientist(which played my freezing trap), threw down a healbot, then played a duplicate secret. Just Doc Rivered my computer for a minute then conceded.

Got to rank 20, did a few games on my hunter for a daily, first guy was a warlock I wafflestomped. Second guy was gold portrait priest -- I had a brown out and DC'd from game. Get back in, fire up another game. This time it's a paladin with legend back cards, and *EVERY* card he played was Gold, his name was Abom. Undertakers, Cogmasters, Shredders... I take it this guy was just farming lowbies for portraits?

I am thinking about jumping into this for my CCG fix. Anyone have a link to a decent new player guide please?
I'm sure they are out there, but no link; however, real simple, first thing you're going to want to do is lvl each class to 10 and beat each ai hero on basic and advanced.

The first week each month the ladder is usually all over the place, if you finish the prior season rank 5 I believe you start at rank 17 no stars the following season, so if you ranked up a bit in the first week you could easily be playing ppl in the top 2.5% if they just took a few days off.

Does anyone time when they play? I come home early today and bang out four quick wins with a hunter deck very similar to the one column pictured above. After dinner, the ladder(around rank 17) is full of down ranking scum, control warriors and control priests. It takes 10 more games and 3x the time to get two more wins, both of those requiring coined double undertakers.

Is it just better to play on the weekends? Been trying to get infinite arena but it's been hard to establish any consistency because the quality of 0,1,and 2 loss players seems to change a lot from day to day.
Ya it's weird. Yesterday I faced 5 control warriors in a row, all with the full lineup of Grommash/Rag/Sylvanas/Dr. Boom around ranks 17-18 on my druid. Went to fatigue every time and won maybe one of them. Called it quits for a few hours then fired up my facetard hunter and got a quick 5 wins in a row in under an hour against what you would expect to see at those ranks.

Game is getting older and people have more experience and card pools...First week is always a mess, I haven't played many games yet. I'll grind out of it today, or tomorrow depending on my RL schedule.

I have a spreadsheet that tells me how close I am to all golden cards!
I just calculated it this morning while drinking coffee and I need 225,600 dust for a complete gold collection. Ugh. Probably a lot less than some people though; I had a complete gold classic collection before GvG came out minus a few basics, but de'd some shit like a gold Cho and gold Millhouse to make stuff like a gold Neptulon. I don't regret a thing.

Kibler was streaming yesterday and he was only rank 12 while I was watching. I wonder if the holidays and its real life commitments actually slowed down the top end players.

Why are haunted creepers beasts while nerub'ar weblords are not? Considering running weblords in place of the creepers in cancer due to all the healbots and wouldn't hesitate if they were beasts.

And to whomever said fuck antique healbots in handlock, I agree fuck antique healbots in handlock, way too much healing for a class that shouldn't have it.

I haven't run actual stats but it really feels to me like the ladder and arena are easier during weekdays than at prime time evenings or on weekends.
I disagree with this. On the weekend and at prime time you're more prone to find more casual players and get easier wins than you are at random times of day. I think you'll also find more a more consistent meta at those times than at random off hours (and my stats recently seem to support this).

Also yes, healbots are a pain in the ass in handlock. It makes what should be a really good match for Hunter a coin toss at best.

Weblords are dead nerubians that were resurected. Creepers are live spiders inahbited by ghosts, which are released when you kill them.

uh..a haunted creeper is just a dumb spider, He's a beast. Nerub'ar Weblords are Nerubians and are like intelligent species of spider like people.

Haha yeah my Medivh Mage once healed for over 90 vs. a Hunter thanks to Freezing Trap, Duplicate and Medivh. You can potentially heal for far over 100 with Healbots, Duplicate, Medivh and Alex.

I genuinely think Healbot will be nerfed to 6 healing.

I had to google Doc Rivers meme to figure out what you are talking about and was pleasantly rewarded. Thank you for that.

Pffft...I guess that makes sense, never played WoW, I was just looking at the card art and it just looks like a spider.

I agree I find I have an easier time na primetime, but have no data and not sure if it was anecdotal; a saturday morning arena run is normally good for a couple of hours. Although when I watch foreign streamers play na during the day, it seems like they play the dumbest ppl. But late night definitely seems like the worst time to play, might also just be myself getting sleepy so I make poorer choices.
