@Cyni I've been playing since before the last wipe before open beta started, I played a ton of arena for awhile. I've probably spent around $100 since the game started too though, $40 at the start, bought the last two wings of naxx, all of brm, and a couple of packs and a few arena runs here and there.

I did dailies + win 3 games, I rarely do Arena. I've only made one purchase back when amazon had a coin deal going, think it ended up being 110 packs for $80? If you are gonna spend $$$ I would wait for those deals to get the best value.

Yeah, its just a lot of play, most of my legendaries are crafted. You get little dust in that first bunch of packs, but as your collection grows you get more dust average on pack and can craft legendaries quicker.

The majority of my legendaries are crafted or rewarded from packs from arena spam. I spammed the shit out of arena and practically never played constructed in the beginning. Now I'm only missing 10 legendaries which aren't required for anything atm so I just spam constructed and amass gold until I need to spam arena again (next xpac).
Even though Arena packs reward GvG cards, it's the dust you really want. It's too rare to get the exact cards you need. Expect to save dust and craft what you need.

Time = money, friend. I have two accounts, put $20 into one and nothing into the other. Bought Naxx for gold on both and am buying Blackrock for gold as well. I have all the good neutral legendaries minus Alexstraza on both accounts but I am missing a lot of the good class legendaries on both. I just do the daily each day and an occasional arena. It definitely helps that I started right at the beginning and have been putting in the time since then.

I have a decent amount of legendaries (Sylvannis, Boom, Rag, etc.) but no Gromm to make a control warrior deck. In fact I'm missing a lot of class legendaries like Tirion, Gromm, Antonidas and some others and I've been playing since beta. I've probably spend maybe $40 total on the game (mostly packs, Naxx was paid all in gold, same so far with BRM). Mine are a combo of crafting and pulling from packs (equal time in arena and ranked). In a couple of rare cases I've pulled a golden legendary that I dusted for another.

So most of you guys are rolling gold from dailies/3 wins/etc. straight into packs? Not arena? I get like 2-4 wins per try in arena, its almost not even worth it to me it seems... Maybe ill just start using the gold I get in straight packs instead. Are you using the gold on standard or G&G packs?

I hardly ever use gold for packs, it's all arena. The only exception to this was a few months ago since I took a break and started a month or 2 after GvG so I used some gold to get some of those packs.

Now I just buy packs, but I built up my collection doing arenas, I used to average around 5 wins though. Classic or gvg I suppose depends on what you're looking for, but most likely classic as it has more epics and legendaries you would be looking for.
Iv'e just been buying packs as well, arena has been far to frustrating to play to be fun for me.

Arena would be much more fun if you didn't have to play constructed to get into arena. The two modes are very distinct and I don't know many people that enjoy both. Puzzling out the next few turns is honestly fun enough, I'm not sure I really need a pack or gold(except to get back in arena) or dust. Going back to the same shit over and over in constructed is just boring.
Ugh, it's just like grift trials in D3. Is there some sort of "you must do some boring shit before fun shit" design philosophy at Blizzard?
I've also been considering ponying up $$$ for arena runs here and there when my gold runs out. At ~4.5 wins per arena, I wonder what that would amount to per month. Wish there was a way to buy bulk gold at discount outside of those amazon coin deals.
