Hadn't played Arena in a month because I was saving gold for Blackrock. Thought I'd hop back on and get owned, but my first run I go 10 wins with a Warlock and then get a Druid with no removal whatsoever (no swipes, no wraths, no starfalls/starfires, no Druid of the Talons, etc.) and think I'll get owned, but so far, I'm still ownin' it up. But hot damn if a break from Arena and watching top streamers talk about how they are the best or mainly win tournaments because of RNG doesn't remind you how bad this game is with RNG. You like to think you have skill, and of course, top players do have skill, and I know I have skill in Arena because of how consistently I get over 7-8 wins every time, but still, fuck me this game is sooooooo RNG.

Kripp was saying that he's getting better win percentages lately in arena and he's attributing it to phone players. Sounds about right to me.

Hmm. I think that could definitely be true, because I have been noticing a lot of phone players lately (you can tell based on how they play their cards). However, outside of my month break, I have been consistently above 7 wins ever since GvG, with an overall total average getting higher and higher and inching up to 8. I was at like 5.5 a year ago, and then up to 6.3ish after Naxx and then 7.2 a month after GvG and now I'm around 7.8. I guess you can just attribute that to lots and lots of experience, despite how crazy RNG is. But I thought being gone a month would have made me a bit rusty, and it probably should have, but all the phone players probably balance that out. It's extremely rare that I don't go 8 wins.

Edit: Hmm, but phone players don't explain easy wins after like 6 or 7 I'd think. Or maybe there are so many, they are just beating each other and getting into the high win brackets.

When you play still has a big influence too. I went 9 wins with this shitty paladin deck:

Hearth Arena - Beyond the Tier List

Decent value, but the curve absolutely blows. I got those 9 wins over the weekend. I went 2 wins yesterday with this deck:

Hearth Arena - Beyond the Tier List

Maybe a few too many 3's(they were honestly the best choices, you can see in the link), but it has better value than the 9 win deck and a better curve. Deck with a better curve but lower value went 3 wins, same day:

Hearth Arena - Beyond the Tier List

I've already resolved to only play 1 run per day, which matches how much time I have usually, but I really don't want to restrict it to over the weekend too.

face hunter roping me every turn. what exactly is hard about your decision making in that deck?
Probably another phone player. I have noticed the new phone players take a million years to make plays, and it's because they are on a phone... watching a show and doing other things at the same time... every time.

25 wins to golden priest; but if it makes you feel better I'm so sick of the class I won't be playing it for awhile after I hit golden.

This is a very true statement. Play during prime time, it's easier. 12 wins during prime time all day. Off hours 4-6 too often
What's "prime time" to you? I seem to find after dinner, about 5:30 PM EST to ~9, is when I face the stiffest competition. Later into the weeknight, it get's easier. Earlier in the day Saturday and Sunday seems really easy, then competition picks up into the afternoon.
